(Photo courtesy of SAM CHUN DANG PHARM CO. Every year, more than 2,500 companies from around the world participate to share the latest technologies and discuss business collaborations. From 2011 through last year, SAM CHUN DANG PHARM CO. LTD participated in the Korea Pavilion—a joint booth organized by the Korea Trade-Investment Promotion Agency (KOTRA) and the Korea Pharmaceutical Exporters Association—but this year, for the first time, it will set up and operate its own standalone booth. The company decided to utilize the standalone booth to engage in more in-depth discussions with overseas pharmaceutical companies and business partners, in line with the diversification of its export portfolio and the expansion of its global collaboration network. In particular, it plans to actively seek new business opportunities, focusing on the supply of finished eye drop products and local partnerships for its key pipeline products currently under development. Previously, SAM CHUN DANG PHARM CO. LTD began supplying single-use eye drops to the European market in 2022, starting with 0.004% travoproste eye drops, and is currently pursuing the export of “SCD411” (domestic product name: Vigenfri), a biosimilar of the age-related macular degeneration treatment Eylea, beginning in 2025. At this exhibition, SAM CHUN DANG PHARM CO. LTD will showcase its lineup of eye drops for the treatment of glaucoma, elevated intraocular pressure, and allergic conjunctivitis—currently supplied to the European and U.S. markets—as well as the biosimilar SCD411, which is already being supplied to South Korea, Canada, and major European countries. In addition, the company plans to unveil its pipeline of follow-up biosimilars for retinal diseases—including a high-dose version of Eylea—which is being developed based on the know-how accumulated throughout the development, approval, and commercialization of SCD411. Furthermore, regarding its new development pipeline—which includes oral insulin, oral GLP-1, long-acting injectables, and biosimilars for immuno-oncology—the company plans to hold individual meetings with global pharmaceutical companies to discuss technology transfer (L/O) and joint development. A SAM CHUN DANG PHARM CO. LTD official stated, “Building on our unparalleled production capabilities that meet the strict manufacturing and quality control standards of European and U.S. regulatory agencies, we will significantly strengthen our collaboration with global partners and accelerate our expansion into overseas markets.”
