[Edaily Starin Gim Ga Yeong Reporter] The Netflix series “The Blue Road,” starring actors Son Seok-gu and Aita Nagayama, has confirmed its release date as November 20.
On the 2nd, Netflix announced that “The Blue Path” will premiere on November 20. “The Blue Path” is the latest work from director Han Jun-hee, who directed the Netflix series “D.P.” and the film “Chinatown,” and has garnered attention for bringing together Son Seok-gu and Eita Nagayama. The series follows two detectives as they investigate a corpse with twisted limbs, a mysterious message, and a series of gruesome murders recurring across national borders. This marks the reunion of Son Seok-gu and director Han Jun-hee since “D.P. Season 2,” and viewers are eager to see how well they’ll work together. Netflix unveiled the poster along with the release date. The poster captures the attention with images of Detective “Kim Seok” (Son Seok-gu) from the Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency’s Mobile Investigation Unit and Detective “Inose” (Eita Nagayama) from the Tokyo Metropolitan Police Department’s First Investigation Division standing in the back alleys of Japan and South Korea, respectively. Behind them are mysterious messages written in Korean and Japanese.
The trailer, released alongside the poster, opens with “Kim Seok” and “Inose” rushing toward a crime scene. Their dialogue—describing the sound of bones breaking—is intercut with messages written in Korean and Japanese with the victims’ blood left at the scene. The sight of “Kim Seok” running through the crowd and “Inose” shouting in uncontrollable rage foreshadows the two men’s relentless pursuit of the case, each in their own way. Furthermore, the scene of “Inose” looking down at “Kim Seok,” who is lying on the ground covered in blood, reveals a subtle tension between them and hints at their completely different personalities and investigative styles. “Blue Road” premieres on Netflix this Friday, November 20.
