These funds will be used to support HearCycle’s medical expenses for young people with hearing impairments and their reintegration into society; World Vision’s “Dream Scholarship” program and tailored growth support for children and adolescents from low-income and vulnerable backgrounds; and OSEAN’s coastal cleanup, marine debris collection, and river cleanup activities. Through his agency, JYP Entertainment, Bang Chan stated, “It is meaningful to be able to extend my support, however small, to various areas in need—from children’s dreams to the communities where we live,” adding, “I hope my support reaches those in need everywhere and helps us all dream of a better tomorrow together.” Bang Chan continues to spread warmth throughout society through his consistent charitable activities. Previously, in September, he donated a total of 200 million won—100 million won each to Seoul Rehabilitation Hospital and the UNICEF Korea Committee—to support the construction of a specialized rehabilitation center tailored to patients’ ages and medical conditions, as well as to aid in recovery efforts following the massive floods in Nepal. On his 2025 birthday, he donated a total of 200 million won—100 million won to Samsung Seoul Hospital to support treatment costs for pediatric and adolescent patients and 100 million won to the UNICEF Korea Committee to support children worldwide. On his 2024 birthday, he donated 100 million won to the Community Chest of Korea (Fruit of Love) to support people with developmental disabilities, and was appointed a member of the “Honor Society,” a group for major donors. Last year, to support recovery efforts following wildfires in the South and North Gyeongsang regions and a fire in Hong Kong, he and his Stray Kids bandmates donated funds to Hope Bridge National Disaster Relief Association, World Vision, and World Vision Hong Kong. Recently recognized as the K-pop idol with the most copyrighted songs—245, according to the Korea Music Copyright Association (KOMCA)—Bang Chan leads the group’s in-house production team, 3RACHA, alongside members Changbin and Han, garnering attention in the global market with music they create themselves. As part of the group-led festival “STRAYCITY,” which concluded on September 25 and 26 (local time) in Mexico City, Mexico, they held five concerts across three regions in Latin America, drawing a total audience of 270,000. Meanwhile, Stray Kids, the group to which Bang Chan belongs, did not submit any music for the 69th Grammy Awards, which will be held next year. This decision is drawing attention as it came less than a day after the Recording Academy, which organizes the Grammy Awards, announced that it would proceed with presenting an award in the Asian Pop category. Stray Kids is a leading K-pop group that has gained immense popularity overseas, having topped the “Billboard 200” album chart nine times. This record places them second only to The Beatles in the number of No. 1 hits.
