[Edaily Reporter Lee So-Hyun ] Naver (NAVER(035420)) is participating as an official sponsor of the “31st Busan International Film Festival,” integrating its services—from live streaming via Chizich to video clips, Naver Maps, and Naver Pay (Npay). Online, users can enjoy the opening and closing ceremonies and major events in real time, while on-site, Naver services will facilitate everything from finding restaurants to navigation and payments.

Naver announced on the 6th that it will participate as an official sponsor of the 31st Busan International Film Festival, which runs from the 6th to the 15th.

Chijijik to Exclusively Live-Stream the Opening Ceremony’s Red Carpet and Main Event

The streaming platform Chijijik will exclusively live-stream the red carpet and main ceremony of the Busan International Film Festival on the 6th.

In addition to the closing ceremony on the 15th, it will also provide live coverage of major outdoor events held during the festival, such as outdoor stage greetings and open talks.

It will also feature “Watch Together” content with Chijichik streamers. Users can watch the opening and closing ceremonies and major events in real time with fellow movie fans and enjoy key moments together.

Naver Clip will deliver short-form clips capturing the on-site atmosphere.

Clip creators will visit Busan to introduce key festival venues and local landmarks, and will also produce reviews of films screening at the Busan International Film Festival.

49 “BIFF Staff-Recommended Restaurants” on Naver Maps

Naver Maps is operating a “BIFF Staff-Recommended Restaurants” tab within the “Matdongyeo Map” special feature, which compiles 49 restaurants in the Busan area personally recommended by festival staff.

During the festival, users who make a reservation via Naver, visit the restaurant, and write a review can earn up to 4,000 won in rewards.

Information on key festival venues is also available via Naver Maps, helping attendees navigate the festival grounds.

Face Recognition Payments at Merchandise Shops and Major Venues

Offline payment infrastructure is also provided. At official merchandise shops, markets, and major event venues, the “Npay Connect” integrated terminal—which supports Naver Pay’s facial recognition payment service, “FaceSign Payment”—will be in operation.

Attendees can make payments using facial recognition without needing a separate card or having to operate their smartphones.

Naver previously implemented Npay Connect at the Jecheon International Music & Film Festival last September and plans to provide digital payment infrastructure for the National Sports Festival, which opens on the 16th, and the Grand Mint Festival, which takes place on the 17th.

Joo Geon-beom, Head of Naver Entertainment, stated, “The Busan International Film Festival is a premier film festival where attendees can not only enjoy films but also experience a variety of content and culture on-site.” He added, “We will organically integrate Naver’s diverse services—including streaming, community-based viewing culture, on-site content from clip creators, and offline payments—to help users enjoy the festival in a more immersive way.”

Meanwhile, Naver will also live-stream the “Buil Film Awards,” taking place on the 7th at Signiel Busan, via Chijijik. Chijijik is set to exclusively broadcast the red carpet, handprinting ceremony, and awards ceremony.
