[Edaily Reporter NA EUN-KYUNG ] #Graphy Inc., a company specializing in the development of materials for 3D printing, announced on the 7th that it has signed a 2 billion won contract with Megagen Implant to supply prosthetic solutions. This marks the first supply contract for “Tera Harz E-Namel,” a material for permanent dental crowns launched last month, and it signals the solidification of the product and distribution partnership that Graphy Inc. has been pursuing with Megagen since acquiring a controlling stake in Ray Co., Ltd.

Graphy Inc. signed a solution supply contract with Megagen at its Gasan headquarters in Seoul, covering prosthetic materials as well as 3D printing and post-processing equipment. Under the contract, Graphy Inc. will supply Megagen with Tera Harz E-Namel, along with 3D printers, nitrogen curing units, and resin removal equipment.

TerraHaze E-Enamel is a light-curable 3D printing prosthetic material that incorporates 53% inorganic ceramic filler into a polymer matrix. It was developed to enable the direct 3D printing of digitally designed dental prosthetics, such as crowns, bridges, inlays, and onlays. Graphy Inc. obtained manufacturing certification for this product as a Class II medical device in Korea—specifically, “resin for dental crowns”—on the 7th of last month and launched the product on the 15th of the same month. Graphy Inc. has also submitted a 510(k) premarket notification to the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) to enter the U.S. market.

This agreement marks the first instance in which the business collaboration in the digital dental sector pursued by Graphy Inc. and Megagen has resulted in an actual supply contract. Last month, Graphy Inc. acquired a 26.14% stake in Ray Co., Ltd., a digital dental solutions company, becoming its largest shareholder. Ray Co., Ltd. develops digital diagnostic imaging equipment and software, including cone-beam computed tomography (CBCT). Megagen is Ray Co., Ltd.’s second-largest shareholder.

Previously, Shim Woon-seop, Chairman of Graphy Inc., stated in an interview with Edaily that the company had no plans to have Megagen representatives join the board of directors of Ray Co., Ltd., but rather intended to maintain separate legal entities and brands while expanding cooperation with Megagen in the areas of products and distribution. This prosthodontic solutions supply agreement represents the concrete implementation of the business cooperation plan mentioned at that time.

The two companies are also in the final stages of negotiations for an annual contract to supply Ray Co., Ltd.’s CBCT systems to Megagen. Once the contract is signed, they plan to expand the scope of their collaboration by integrating Ray Co., Ltd.’s diagnostic imaging equipment with Megagen’s implant business and Graphy Inc.’s 3D-printed prosthetic materials and equipment.

Following the signing of the contract that day, Park Kwang-beom, Chairman of Megagen, shared his experience of applying TerraHaze E-Enamel to approximately 50 prosthetic cases. Chairman Park explained that, compared to existing zirconia prosthetics, it offered advantages in terms of production time, weight, and occlusal adjustment. However, this assessment is based on Chairman Park’s clinical experience and does not represent the results of a direct clinical trial comparing it to zirconia.

Shim Un-seop, Chairman of Graphy Inc., stated, “This 2 billion won supply contract marks the starting point of cooperation between the two companies,” adding, “We will expand clinical applications and customer adoption to ensure a continuous supply.”

Park Kwang-beom, Chairman of Megagen, said, “We plan to expand our digital treatment workflow by integrating Graphy Inc.’s 3D-printed prosthetic technology and develop it into a comprehensive solution.”
