[Edaily Reporter NA EUN-KYUNG ] MedPacto, Inc.(235980)announced on the 7th that it will participate in “BioJapan 2026,” taking place in Yokohama, Japan, from the 7th to the 9th, to pursue global partnering opportunities for its new anticancer drug candidate “MP010.”

MedPacto, Inc. plans to hold approximately 20 pre-scheduled meetings during the event with global pharmaceutical companies, local Japanese pharmaceutical and biotech firms, and investment firms. The company will share the preclinical research results and clinical development plans for MP010 and discuss potential collaborations, including technology transfer, joint development, and strategic investment.

MP010 is a dual-function fusion protein currently under development that targets the tumor microenvironment (TME). It is designed to bind to the extra-domain-B fibronectin (EDB-FN) expressed in the extracellular matrix of tumor tissue to access the tumor site, while simultaneously capturing transforming growth factor beta (TGF-β), which is involved in cancer growth and immune suppression. MedPacto, Inc.’s development goal is to selectively inhibit TGF-β around tumors to induce an anti-cancer immune response.

Currently, MP010 is in the preclinical development stage for solid tumors. MedPacto, Inc. previously announced in May that it was preparing to submit an Investigational New Drug (IND) application for MP010. The company plans to proceed with development to enter Phase 1 clinical trials while simultaneously pursuing business development initiatives, such as technology transfers.

MedPacto, Inc. also plans to explore the possibility of combining MP010 with other anticancer drugs, including antibody-drug conjugates (ADCs), in future clinical trials. This approach involves evaluating therapeutic efficacy by combining MP010—which modulates the tumor microenvironment—with other anticancer agents.

A MedPacto, Inc. official stated, “Based on MP010’s preclinical data and future clinical development plans, we intend to discuss technology transfer and joint development opportunities with overseas pharmaceutical companies,” adding, “We will expand specific collaboration opportunities through this year’s BioJapan.”

Meanwhile, BioJapan is a biotechnology industry event held in Japan where pharmaceutical and biotech companies, research institutions, and investment firms participate to share R&D achievements and conduct business development and partnering meetings.
