[Edaily Reporter Lee So-Hyun ] Kakao(035720)is launching its biggest shopping discount event of the year, combining “Gift,” “Talk Deal,” and “Kakao Shopping Live.” The company has enhanced the perceived value of the event by allowing customers to apply discount coupons and then receive an additional discount when paying with kakaopay.

Kakao announced on the 7th that it will hold “K-Shop Festa: The Double Discount Shopping Festival,” a large-scale discount event on Kakao Shopping, from the 12th to the 25th.

Kakao Shopping Festa is an event centered around the KakaoTalk Shopping tab, featuring major shopping services such as “Gift,” “Talk Deal,” and “Kakao Shopping Live.”

Coupons worth up to 10,000 won plus kakaopay discounts

During the event period, users can receive first-come, first-served coupons every day at 11:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m. that offer a 5,000-won discount on purchases of 20,000 won or more on “Talk Deals” and “Gift Giving,” respectively.

Every day at 8:00 a.m., three types of daily coupon packs will also be available: △ 2,000 won off purchases of 20,000 won or more, △ 5,000 won off purchases of 50,000 won or more, and △ 10,000 won off purchases of 100,000 won or more.

In addition, kakaopay payment discounts can be applied in conjunction with these offers. When paying 20,000 won or more with kakaopay Money in the “Gift” section, customers receive an additional 10% discount on shipped items, with a maximum discount of 10,000 won. Gift certificates receive a 2,000-won discount.

For premium special-price items, a 5% discount—up to 50,000 won—is applied when paying 200,000 won or more with kakaopay Money or a credit card.

On TalkDeal, paying 20,000 won or more with kakaopay entitles you to a 10% discount, up to a maximum of 10,000 won. For select items, a 7% discount applies to purchases of 200,000 won or more, up to a maximum of 300,000 won.

kakaopay payment discounts can be used an unlimited number of times during the event period.

24-Hour Specials and Brand Events

The platform also runs “24-Hour K-Shop Deals,” which feature new products sold daily at limited-time special prices.

In addition, the site is introducing “Lowest Price Challenge,” a collection of special-price items, and “Voucher Specials,” which offers discounted vouchers for popular brands such as Paris Baguette and Twosome Place.

It will also host the “Brand of the Day” event, featuring major brands such as Helen Kaminski, Dyson, Yuhan-Kimberly, and CJ CheilJedang Corp.

Kakao Shopping Live plans to sell seasonal products—including home appliances, beauty items, food, and leisure goods—at live-stream exclusive prices through “Today’s Live” and “Influencer Picks.”

Invite Friends and Earn Up to 1 Million Points

A friend-invitation event will also be held. Users can share the Kakao Shopping Live page with friends, and when invited friends visit the page, users will earn 100 points per friend, up to a maximum of 10 friends.

After the first 10 friends, an additional 500 points will be awarded for every 10 friends invited, and the user who invites the most friends will receive an additional 1 million points.

Additionally, 4,000 participants will be selected via a random drawing to receive a limited-edition Kashope character keychain. The earned points can be used until the 25th.

Prior to the main event, a pre-event titled “It’s Kashope Time in October” will run from the 7th to the 11th.

Users who sign up for pre-event notifications will each receive a 1,000-won discount coupon valid for purchases of 10,000 won or more on the “Gift” and “Talk Deal” features.

Additional Benefits for Kakao Membership Subscribers

Kakao Membership subscribers, who began signing up on the 1st, can receive additional benefits during the event period.

Membership subscribers will receive an exclusive coupon offering a 15% discount—up to 2,000 won—on purchases of 10,000 won or more.

Additionally, they can earn both Shopping Points and kakaopay Points simultaneously, allowing them to enjoy greater benefits than regular users.
