[Edaily Starin Gim Ga Yeong Reporter] Trainer Yang Chi-seung, who appeared on “Radio Star,” reveals the actual extent of the financial losses he had to bear following the closure of his gym.
On the upcoming episode of MBC’s “Radio Star,” airing on the 7th, Choi Kang-hee, Oh Man-seok, Kim Won-hyo, and Yang Chi-seung will appear as guests. Yang Chi-seung personally explains the fallout from the donation-for-lease fraud scandal surrounding the gym he had operated for a long time. He reveals that while he initially intended to simply get his security deposit back and leave, he realized the severity of the situation after hearing stories from other tenants who had faced similar problems. He explained that the facility investment costs, including the security deposit, were substantial, and this was compounded by the amounts owed to members and legal fees. Adding to this the fact that he was unable to operate the business properly for about three years, he revealed the scale of the losses, stating, “It came to nearly 2 billion won.” Previously, Yang Chi-seung’s losses had been reported as 1.5 billion won. Yang Chi-seung also recalled the difficult times. He said that when his stress reached its peak, he would scream and cry for a long time while wearing his helmet on his motorcycle. He opened up about those trying times, explaining that by the time he arrived home, he would wipe away his tears and go about his business as if nothing had happened. Yang Chi-seung confided that it was the support of those around him that helped him get back on his feet. He shared anecdotes about Choi Kang-hee, who prayed for him, and Kim Sook, who helped him find a new location for his gym. Reflecting on the people who comforted and looked out for him, Yang Chi-seung said, “I felt it would be too shameful to just collapse like this,” adding, “I found the strength to get back up.” Yang Chi-seung also expressed his desire to appear on *The Black and White Chef*. He explained that he had prepared for several months before filming and was even told by the production team, “The editing turned out great, so enjoy the show.” He shared an anecdote about the humiliation of being cut from the broadcast: he had gathered his family in front of the TV to wait for his appearance, but he didn’t appear even as the episode played out. Meanwhile, Yang Chi-seung made a name for himself as a fitness trainer known for working with numerous celebrities, including actors Kim Woo-bin and Sung Hoon, as well as BTS’s Jin. He is also active as a TV personality, appearing on various variety shows such as MBC’s *I Live Alone* and KBS2’s *The Boss’s Ears Are Donkey Ears*. “Radio Star” airs every Wednesday at 10:30 p.m.
