Han Jun-hee, Head of Planning, shared behind-the-scenes stories about the film during the “Sweet Part-Time Job” open talk at the 31st Busan International Film Festival (BIFF), held on the 8th at the Loop Theater of the Busan Cinema Center in Haeundae-gu, Busan. Director Kim Da-min, Head of Planning Han Jun-hee, and actors Kim Min-ha and Choi Hyun-wook were in attendance.

Han, the Head of Planning, spoke about his special bond with actor Choi Hyun-wook, with whom he has collaborated on projects ranging from “D.P.” to the “Weak Hero” series. Regarding Choi Hyun-wook’s appearance—which left a strong impression despite being limited to just one scene—Han said, “I asked him to appear just three times,” and expressed his gratitude, adding, “I’m so grateful he came all the way to Busan.”

He then drew laughter by adding, “Please help us out next time, too.” Choi Hyun-wook responded, “I’ll rush over as soon as you call.”

“Sweet Part-Time Job” is a survival horror series set in a bizarre employment agency that only introduces “sweet part-time jobs” starting at 50 times the minimum wage, following a young man named “Hyuk-jun” as he is thrust into nightmarish work environments to make ends meet.

Director Kim Da-min, who wrote the screenplay for the Netflix series *Killer: Oh, No!* and gained attention for the film *Makgeolli Will Tell You*, took the helm, while Han Jun-hee, who has built a solid body of work through series such as *D.P.* and *Weak Hero*, served as the executive producer. The cast includes Lee Jae-wook, Go Min-si, Kim Min-ha, and Lee Hee-joon.

Kim Min-ha said, “I was envious of the audience members at the Busan International Film Festival who got to watch it on the big screen. I thought it would be even more enjoyable to watch it on a big screen with immersive sound.”

Regarding the audience’s reaction to the film, she continued, “I lost track of time. I watched it covering my eyes because I was scared, and I was startled at times. I was truly in awe.”

Kim Min-ha added, “I was curious to see how you would bring to life what we had only imagined, and I’m grateful that you portrayed it so flawlessly. I’m also very curious to see the audience’s reaction.”

Choi Hyun-wook remarked, “I actually only appear in the first episode—we wrapped up after filming about four episodes,” adding, “I don’t know what happens later in the script, and since I’m about to watch it myself, I’m really looking forward to it.”

He continued, “I heard the reaction yesterday was fantastic, so I’m really looking forward to it,” adding, “I have fond memories of working on this project.”

A senior producer began by discussing his collaboration with Director Kim Da-min and the inspiration behind the project, saying, “When I first read the script, it was shocking.”

He continued, “I had the ambition to turn this story into a commercial series,” explaining, “As you’ll see, the director presented it in a way that’s accessible and approachable so that a wide audience can enjoy it. However, the story itself has heavy and profound elements, yet it’s also lighthearted.”

He added, “I thought this character’s way of thinking wasn’t exactly normal either. I created this pairing because I wanted to showcase that energy.”

"Sweet Part-Time Job" will be released on the 30th.
