BTS has a deep connection with this awards show. They won the “Favorite Music Group” trophy for four consecutive years from 2020 to 2023, setting the record for the most wins in that category. By being nominated again in the same category this year, they are aiming for their fifth overall win. BLACKPINK has also been nominated alongside BTS in the “Favorite Music Group/Duo” category. The members’ solo activities have also been included on the list of nominees. Rosé has been nominated in the “Favorite Female Artist” category, while Jennie has been nominated for “Favorite Music Collaboration” for “Dracula,” a track she released with Australian singer Tame Impala. Cat’s Eye, a girl group formed through a joint venture between HYBE and Geffen Records, has also been nominated for “Favorite Female Breakout Artist/Group.” The Netflix animated series “K-Pop Demon Hunters,” which gained global popularity last year, is also in the running for awards in several categories. Ahn Hyo-seop and Aden Cho, who voiced Jin-woo and Rumi in the series, have been nominated for “Favorite Male Animated Voice from a Movie” and “Favorite Female Animated Voice from a Movie,” respectively. Rumi, Joy, and Mira—members of the fictional girl group Huntrix in the film—have been nominated for “Favorite On-Screen Duo/Trio,” and the original soundtrack (OST) track “Golden” is competing in the “Favorite Song from a Movie” category. The film *K-Pop Demon Hunters* itself has also been nominated for “Favorite Animated Movie,” meaning the film, its music, and its voice cast are all in the running for trophies.
