Man Storms N.Flying’s Stage, Kicks Microphone… Yoo Hoi-seung, on the Other Hand, Picked It Up
Commotion During ‘Oktapbang’ Performance at Hanshin University Festival
Identity and Motive of Intruder Remain Unclear
Past Cases Involving Heo Gak and CL Also Re-examined
[Edaily Starin YUN GI BACK Reporter] The band N.Flying faced an unexpected incident when a man stormed the stage during their performance at a college festival. Even amid the chaos, Yoo Hoe-seung was seen prioritizing the well-being of the intruder over his own. A man storming the stage while N.Flying’s Yoo Hoi-seung was performing. (Photo = Screenshot from social media) N.Flying took the stage at Hanshin University’s festival on the 7th. While performing their hit song “Roof Room,” a man suddenly rushed onto the stage and approached Yoo Hoi-seung. After pointing to his wrist as if to speak, he also kicked Seo Dong-sung’s microphone stand with his foot. Although it was an inevitably unsettling situation, Yoo Hoe-seung actually checked on the man’s well-being as he was being restrained. He also appeared to be trying to continue the performance without showing much distress. Although nearby residents claimed the performance had gone past the scheduled end time of 10 p.m., it has not yet been officially confirmed whether the performance actually exceeded the scheduled time, nor have the intruder’s identity or motives been verified. Criticism continues to mount regarding the organizers’ security measures, which allowed audience members to approach the stage unimpeded. This is not the first time such an incident has occurred at a university festival. At the 2022 Pohang University festival, a man who claimed he “couldn’t sleep” snatched Heo Gak’s microphone and behaved threateningly. That same year, at the Chung-Ang University festival, a male audience member hugged CL and wandered around the stage, and during a Bolbbalgan4 performance, an audience member climbed onto the stage demanding to take a photo. In 2011, during a Girls’ Generation performance, a man was stopped after attempting to grab Taeyeon’s hand and pull her off the stage, and G-Dragon has also experienced audience intrusions on numerous occasions during performances both in Korea and abroad. Critics argue that rather than relying on singers to handle such situations calmly, security and stage safety management at university festivals must be strengthened.
