[Edaily Reporter An Yu-ri ] AHNLAB,INC.(053800)is supporting the establishment of the National Network Security Framework (N2SF), which enables the use of generative artificial intelligence (AI) and the internet on the National Research Foundation of Korea’s internal network. The key is to simultaneously implement “Information Service Model 2,” which utilizes generative AI, and “Model 4,” which allows internet access on work terminals.
AHNLAB,INC., as the lead company in the consortium for the “Korea Internet & Security Agency’s 2026 National Network Security Framework (N2SF) Implementation Support Project,” has been supporting the National Research Foundation of Korea’s adoption of N2SF since last June as part of a consortium with MONITORAPP CO., LTD., Dream Security Co.,Ltd., SecureOne, and others.
The company has now completed the configuration and integration of security solutions and has fully implemented all 97 security control measures required for the applied models. Starting in late October and continuing through November, the scope of implementation will be expanded to the entire organization, with deployment scheduled for completion by the end of November.
The implementation targets are Information Service Model 2 for generative AI utilization and four models for internet use on work devices. AHNLAB,INC. explained that it has completed the deployment and integration of the solution and has also implemented all 97 security controls required for the implementation. The company plans to expand the scope of implementation company-wide starting at the end of this month and complete the project by the end of November.
The new system verifies user identity, permissions, and device security status before allowing access only to authorized services. External webpages are opened in an isolated environment to minimize the potential impact of malicious content on work devices.
Information transmission is controlled according to the classification levels: Confidential (C), Sensitive (S), and Open (O). Only Open-level files may be sent to approved Open-level AI services and general websites. Sensitive-level business systems allow the transmission of Sensitive and Open-level data in accordance with policy but block the transmission of Confidential data.
The consortium has divided its roles. AHNLAB,INC. is responsible for endpoint and network access control. MONITORAPP CO., LTD. provides web isolation and data protection, while Dream Security Co.,Ltd. provides authentication functions. SecureOne is in charge of N2SF consulting, vulnerability assessments, and third-party penetration testing.
Baek Min-kyung, Team Leader of AHNLAB,INC.’s Solution Consulting Division, stated, “We will leverage the strengths of each consortium member to expand implementation and conduct audits, and we will ensure the stable completion of the deployment. We will support efforts to ensure that the experience gained from this project leads to the adoption and widespread use of N2SF across various organizations.”
