This contract aims to improve the performance of the driving simulator that INNOSIMULATION CO., LTD. installed at HyundaiMotor’s Gangnam UX Studio last year and to expand its scope of research applications. By taking on this follow-up enhancement project following the initial installation, the company will continue its collaborative relationship with HyundaiMotor.
HyundaiMotor’s Gangnam UX Studio is a research facility that virtually replicates various road environments and driving conditions without operating actual vehicles, enabling the analysis of driver responses and the vehicle user experience. It is utilized for vehicle UX development and validation, as it can repeatedly simulate driving situations that are difficult to reproduce or pose significant risks during real-world testing.
Through this project, INNOSIMULATION CO., LTD. plans to enhance the operational stability of the simulator while improving the feel of controls and driving responses experienced by drivers to make them more closely resemble those of an actual vehicle. The company will overhaul the entire research environment by incorporating operational data collected since the system’s implementation last year, as well as feedback from researchers and test participants.
First, the company will streamline equipment control procedures and strengthen system stability. The goal is to improve operational efficiency so that researchers can spend less time on complex equipment operations and focus more on experiment design and data analysis.
The response characteristics of key control devices—such as the steering wheel and the accelerator and brake pedals—will also be precisely adjusted. The goal is to replicate the feel of operating a real vehicle, thereby reducing the sense of dissonance that occurs during virtual driving and increasing the immersion of test participants.
Work is also underway to improve the consistency between driving data collected from actual vehicles and data generated by the simulator. By comparing and analyzing data from both sources under various driving conditions and calibrating the simulator’s response characteristics, the company plans to improve the consistency and reliability of research results.
Based on these technologies, INNOSIMULATION CO., LTD. is expanding its business scope into the field of physical artificial intelligence (AI). By utilizing simulation technology that reflects real-world physical characteristics in a virtual environment, tests that are difficult to perform in actual settings can be safely repeated. The company explains that this reduces risks and costs during the development process while increasing verification efficiency.
Cho Jun-hee, CEO of INNOSIMULATION CO., LTD., stated, “Being entrusted with the project to enhance HyundaiMotor Company’s UX research simulator for the second consecutive year is a testament to our technical capabilities in physical AI validation and virtual engineering.” He added, “We will spare no effort in supporting HyundaiMotor Company to secure world-class competitiveness in future mobility UX research through this simulator, which features improved operational stability and handling.”
INNOSIMULATION CO., LTD. plans to use this contract as an opportunity to strengthen its capabilities in supplying research, development, and validation solutions to automakers. The company’s strategy is to expand business opportunities with domestic and international mobility companies by combining its track record in simulator development with its experience in executing enhancement projects.
