[Edaily Reporter Lee So-Hyun ] Kakao(035720)is hosting an “Emoji Card Draw” event featuring popular character intellectual property (IP) and offering non-subscribers to Emoji Plus up to one year of free access.

Kakao announced that it will hold the “Emoticon Card Draw” event at the Kakao Emoticon Shop for three weeks, from the 12th through the 2nd of next month.

Thirteen popular character IPs, including “Ddutdak Gamja,” “Manggeurijin Gom,” and “Kang Sajang,” are participating in this event.

Users can access the event page via messages on the Kakao Emoticon Talk Channel or the official Instagram account, and by clicking the “Draw a Card” button, they will receive a random character card.

The cards, which feature each character’s expressions and gestures, are divided into Gold, Silver, and Bronze tiers and consist of 39 types in total.

Users can share the cards they’ve obtained with friends or save them.

Up to a 1-Year Free Trial for Non-Subscribers

Non-subscribers to Emoticon Plus will receive two character cards along with one randomly selected free pass. The free passes are available in 7-day, 14-day, 1-month, and 1-year options.

Existing subscribers can receive three character cards. Each user may participate in the card draw event once.

A social media sharing event is also being held, open to both non-subscribers and existing subscribers. To participate, take a screenshot of the cards you’ve obtained, post it on your personal social media with required hashtags such as “Kakao(035720)Emoji” and “#EmojiCardDraw,” and leave the link to your post in the comments section of the event page.

Kakao will randomly select 20 participants to receive a one-year subscription to Emoticon Plus. Winners will be notified individually via the Kakao Emoticon Talk Channel on the 9th of next month.

Kim Ji-hyun, leader of Kakao’s Emoji Tribe, said, “We organized this event so users can enjoy their favorite characters through the unique ‘card draw’ format, and so even first-time users of Emoji Plus can try it out without any pressure,” adding, “We will continue to introduce content and promotions that allow users to have fun experiencing a wide variety of characters.”

Meanwhile, ENPLUS is a subscription service that allows users to use their favorite emoticons without limits. It offers features such as automatic emoticon recommendations tailored to the conversation context and keyword search functionality.
