CEO Shin purchased 40,000 common shares on the open market using his personal funds. Based on the settlement date of October 12, the purchase price per share was 2,800 won, with a total purchase amount of 112 million won. On the business front, the company continues to secure major defense contracts. UNION biometrics recently won the “2026 Science-Based Access Control System Construction Project,” valued at approximately 17.1 billion won (excluding VAT). This is the largest single contract in the company’s history, and the cumulative value of military-related contracts secured since 2020, including this one, totals approximately 42.9 billion won.
This project is a large-scale system integration (SI) initiative that involves the integrated deployment of access control, video security monitoring, and server and network infrastructure. UNION biometrics has expanded its scope beyond the supply of biometric terminals to include the implementation of comprehensive systems. The company anticipates increased revenue and improved financial performance in the second half of the year, driven by the revenue contribution from this contract and the growth of its existing domestic and international operations.
The company has also laid the groundwork for entering the public procurement market. With its smart building physical security integration platform, “UBio-Smart BSP,” selected as an innovative prototype product by the Public Procurement Service, the company is now authorized to supply the platform to public institutions via direct contracts for a designated period of three years.
UNION biometrics plans to expand its integrated security business by leveraging its experience in executing large-scale defense projects, as well as its biometric and standard interoperability technologies. The company also intends to strengthen its growth foundation by identifying new business opportunities in the public procurement market.
A UNION biometrics official stated, “As business achievements—such as recent major contract wins and entry into the public procurement market—become increasingly visible, this share purchase is part of our responsible management strategy, demonstrating confidence in the company’s mid- to long-term growth potential and corporate value,” adding, “We will continue to expand our biometric-based AI security infrastructure business going forward.”
