[Edaily Reporter Kim Hyung-il ] Mobility parts manufacturer DONGYANG PISTON(092780)announced on the 19th that it is expanding its thermal management business by establishing a dedicated production line for heat dissipation modules used in electric vehicle inverters. The company plans to set up a mass production system to supply HyundaiMobis and expand its business scope to include North American and European automakers as well as the artificial intelligence (AI) data center market.

DYP is establishing a dedicated production line for heat dissipation modules (Cooler Assy) for EV inverters at the Hwaseong plant of its subsidiary, DYP Eco. This initiative follows DYP’s selection last January as a supplier of heat dissipation modules for HyundaiMobis’ EV inverters. After completing the installation of key equipment by the end of this month, the company plans to begin trial operations before the end of the year. The goal is to begin full-scale mass production and supply starting next year.
EV inverters are core power conversion devices directly linked to a vehicle’s driving efficiency. It is crucial for them to maintain stable performance even in high-power, high-heat environments. The cooler assembly is a water-cooled component that controls the heat generated by the inverter and is considered a key component of an EV’s thermal management system.
The company is also pursuing entry into the AI data center thermal management component market. The plan is to leverage the technology acquired through its EV heat dissipation module business to address the demand for thermal management resulting from high-performance AI computing.
A DYP official stated, “The establishment of this production line is significant in that it marks the progression of DYP’s strategy to expand its EV thermal management business into the stage of securing a production base,” adding, “Based on our experience in mass-producing heat dissipation modules, we plan to expand our supply to North American and European automakers.” The official continued, “Building on the manufacturing technology and quality competitiveness we have accumulated in the piston business, we will expand our business scope into next-generation thermal management markets, including not only electric vehicles but also AI data centers.”
