(Photo courtesy of Pledis Entertainment)Since their debut in 2015, SEVENTEEN has introduced various sub-units, including Busuksoon (Seungkwan, Doyoung, Hoshi), Jeonghan X Wonwoo, Hoshi X Woozi, S.Coups X Mingyu, Doyoung X Seungkwan, and V8 (D.O.8, Vernon). This marks the first time that vocalists Jeonghan and Joshua are forming a unit together. Jeonghan, who was discharged from alternative military service as a social service worker last June, will resume activities with the release of this album. Through his agency, Pledis Entertainment, Jeonghan shared his thoughts on the comeback, saying, “Since this is my first album promotion since my return, I’m a little nervous. I can’t wait to meet our fans as soon as possible.” He added, “Given that we’ve shown so many different units as SEVENTEEN, we focused most on presenting a unique image that’s distinct to Jeonghan X Joshua.” Joshua said, “I’m excited and looking forward to showing you a side of us that’s different from our group activities,” adding, “Preparing for this album has given me new passion and dreams. It was a time that served as great motivation for me personally.” Jeonghan X Joshua have included a total of seven tracks on the album, including the title track “12 o’clock,” as well as “Like You,” “Outside,” “One Plus One,” “Not Personal,” “Coloring,” and “No Looking Back.” Jeonghan explained, “We prepared this album hoping that the seven tracks would feel like a single story. If you interpret what each song means in your own way and discover the hidden metaphors one by one, you’ll be able to enjoy the album even more fully.” Joshua added, “This album tells a story where the dreams we have while sleeping meet the dreams we want to achieve in reality,” and elaborated, “There are elements throughout that seem to intertwine fantasy and reality.” (Photo: Pledis Entertainment)The title track, “Twelve O’Clock,” is a dance-rock song that borrows from the disco and funk styles popular in the 1970s and 1980s. The lyrics tell the story of chasing a dream while shifting between noon and midnight. Joshua said, “It’s a song that sounds even better when you see it performed on stage,” adding, “We want to convey exciting and joyful energy through choreography that really showcases our visuals and chemistry.” Jeong Han said, “I’ve watched this song come to life from its beginnings as a band track all the way to where it is now. That’s why I’m so attached to it,” adding, “I played it for the members in advance, and they all loved it and encouraged us, saying it suits us perfectly.” Jeonghan X Joshua will release the entire album at 6:00 p.m. today via various online music platforms.
