[Edaily Reporter Kim Hyung-il ] Global precision parts manufacturer DYC(310870)announced on the 19th that it is expanding its presence in the global logistics market by supplying key powertrain components for U.S. electric vehicle manufacturer Rivian’s electric delivery vehicles destined for Amazon for the second consecutive year. The company’s strategy is to secure new business opportunities in future mobility sectors, such as autonomous driving and unmanned logistics, based on its track record in supplying electric vehicle parts.

DYC has maintained a stable supply of these components since first securing the order in July of last year. The company explained that the quality competitiveness and mass-production capabilities it has built up through long-term supply of powertrain components to numerous global automakers served as the foundation for this project.
DYC anticipates that this supply track record will serve as a key reference for targeting the autonomous driving and advanced logistics markets in the future. As the global logistics industry expands the adoption of autonomous driving and unmanned delivery technologies alongside the transition to electric vehicles, DYC Corporation explains that its history of supplying core components for electric delivery vehicles could also facilitate participation in related new projects.
The company also anticipates supply opportunities as the relevant market expands. Amazon is pursuing a goal of introducing 100,000 electric delivery vehicles by 2030. DYC expects that as the adoption of electric delivery vehicles grows, so will the opportunities to supply related components.
DYC plans to expand new business opportunities in future mobility sectors—such as autonomous driving and smart logistics—through continuous research and development and the strengthening of its global sales activities. Building on the precision machining and mass production capabilities it has established within existing global automotive supply chains, the company also plans to diversify the types of vehicles it serves and its customer base.
A DYC official stated, “We are continuously demonstrating our business capabilities by reliably supplying core components over the long term for electric delivery vehicles used by the world’s largest retail company,” adding, “We expect this to serve as an important reference point not only for the electric vehicle market but also for expanding our presence in the future markets for autonomous vehicles and unmanned logistics.” The official continued, “We will continue to strengthen our partnerships with global clients and actively seek out new business opportunities through ongoing research and development and sales expansion.”
