This is a hands-on training program directly planned and operated by E-Daily to enhance the urban and tourism marketing capabilities of local governments, public institutions, and related companies. The faculty consists of practitioners from various fields to impart public relations and marketing strategies and techniques that can be immediately applied in the field. The goal is to explore public relations and marketing solutions that can boost the competitiveness of regional tourism and translate into actual visits and spending, given that visits by foreign tourists are currently concentrated in certain areas such as Seoul.
The theme of the Public Relations Academy is “Promotional Strategies for Regional Festivals and Tourism to Attract Foreign Tourists.” Drawing on domestic and international tourism trends and success stories, the program will introduce specific promotional and marketing strategies and techniques designed to encourage more foreign visitors to visit the region, stay longer, and spend more money. The academy will run from 1:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. and will consist of three lectures followed by a panel discussion. The first session will be led by Professor Choi Kyu-wan of Kyung Hee University’s College of Hotel and Tourism. Professor Choi, a member of the government’s Tourism Innovation Task Force, will examine the characteristics of attractive tourist cities that draw international visitors through the analysis of social media data. Following this, Lim Hye-min, CEO of Creatrip, will present on the topic “Why Are International Visitors Moving Beyond Seoul to Regional Areas?” to introduce the characteristics and success factors of the “local experiences” preferred by international tourists.
Foreign power influencers active in Korea will also present practical solutions for attracting regional tourists. A panel discussion titled “What Needs to Change to Attract Foreigners to Our Region?” will feature three global influencers: Jana Walid from Egypt, Majid Mustaq from Pakistan, and Sydney Potoski (Pyo Shin-hye) from Canada.
A networking program will also be held exclusively for registered applicants to explore opportunities for interaction and collaboration with participants. All participants will receive a “Hwangnam Bread No. 1,” freshly baked in Gyeongju that day, and a total of 15 winners selected by lottery will receive prizes such as hotel and resort (Jeju Dream Tower, Kensington Hotel & Resort) accommodation vouchers and theme park (Lotte World) admission tickets. “Korea Experience” (KX), an inbound tourism (foreign travel to Korea) marketing platform, will also operate a consultation booth at the event venue.
The participation fee for the 2026 Local Government and Public Institution Public Relations Academy is 250,000 won (including VAT), and enrollment is limited to 200 participants on a first-come, first-served basis. A 10% discount is available for those who apply by the 13th of next month. Applications can be submitted via the E-Daily website.
