SamsungE&A announced on the 22nd that it had tentatively recorded consolidated revenue of 2.9105 trillion won and operating profit of 500.6 billion won for the third quarter of this year. These figures represent increases of 45.8% and 183.6%, respectively, compared to the same period last year.

Net income for the same period rose 37.7% to 216.6 billion won.

Cumulative revenue for the first three quarters of this year totaled 7.7872 trillion won, with operating profit reaching 961.9 billion won. The company explained that profitability was boosted by the full reflection of revenue from large-scale chemical and high-tech industrial projects, as well as productivity improvements resulting from project cost management and the adoption of artificial intelligence (AI), digital transformation (DT), and robotics technologies.

New orders also increased significantly. New orders in the third quarter totaled 9.4 trillion won, bringing the cumulative total for the year to 17.1 trillion won. In particular, in September, the company secured an exclusive contract worth approximately 4.7 trillion won for a fertilizer project from SABIC Agri-Nutrients in Saudi Arabia. As of the end of the third quarter, the order backlog stood at 27.2 trillion won, securing approximately three years’ worth of work based on last year’s annual revenue of 9 trillion won.

SamsungE&A has raised its earnings outlook for this year, as its cumulative order intake and operating profit have each surpassed the previous annual targets of 12 trillion won and 800 billion won, respectively. The annual order intake forecast has been revised upward from 12 trillion won to 19 trillion won, and the operating profit forecast has been raised from 800 billion won to 1.4 trillion won.

SamsungE&A also decided to repurchase 780 billion won worth of its own shares to share the results of exceeding its annual business targets with shareholders and to enhance corporate value. The repurchase period will last three months, from the 23rd of this month through January 22 of next year.

Of this amount, 690 billion won will be canceled after acquisition to enhance shareholder value, while the remaining 90 billion won will be used for employee bonuses and other purposes.

A SamsungE&A official stated, “Based on our robust order backlog, we will continue to deliver high-quality contract wins and maintain a stable earnings trend through rigorous project management and differentiated execution driven by innovative technologies,” adding, “We will solidify the foundation for sustainable medium- to long-term growth through balanced growth across all sectors, including chemical engineering, high-tech industries, and new energy.”
