[Edaily Reporter YUN GI BACK ] Even with the same singer and the same venue, a performance can feel completely different depending on the stage. The band Jannabi is embarking on a unique experiment by presenting two concerts with distinct concepts back-to-back at the same venue. This initiative is drawing attention because it offers audiences a wider range of choices by differentiating the setlists and staging for each performance, while also providing a reason to attend the same artist’s show multiple times.

According to their agency, Peponi Music, Jannabi will hold a three-day solo concert from the 23rd to the 25th at the KSPO DOME in Olympic Park, Songpa-gu, Seoul. On the first day, the 23rd, they will present their ballad collection *On a Wonderful Day in October*, and on the 24th and 25th, they will showcase *Sweat & Stardust*, which marks the grand finale of their first Asian tour. This is the first time since their debut that Jannabi has held two consecutive concerts with different concepts at the same venue.
The two shows differ from more than just their atmosphere. On the first day, the setlist will consist entirely of ballads. Centered on Jannabi’s signature lyrical music—such as “For Hesitant Lovers” and “The Hot Summer Night Has Passed, and What Remains Is Unremarkable”—the band plans to explore emotions related to love, the seasons, and the passage of time. In contrast, the concerts on the 24th and 25th will showcase the band’s signature dynamic energy. They will bring to the Seoul stage the performance experience they gained while touring seven Asian cities—starting in Taipei last June and continuing through Hong Kong, Tokyo, Singapore, Bangkok, Kuala Lumpur, and Jakarta. The stage design and setlists have also been tailored differently for each day.
What makes this approach intriguing is that it aligns with changing trends in how concerts are experienced. Typically, a singer’s solo concert features a similar setlist and stage production across multiple dates. As a result, fans choose which show to attend based on the date or seat location. However, Jannabi has differentiated the content of each performance, thereby changing the criteria for selection itself. Audiences who prefer lyrical music can choose the first day, while those who enjoy the energy of a band performance can opt for the remaining two days. For fans who want to experience both sides of the band’s appeal, this gives them a reason to attend each performance.

This is an approach that differs from simply increasing the number of show dates. Rather than merely repeating the same performance to expand the audience capacity, it involves restructuring an artist’s musical repertoire into distinct performance offerings. For artists like Jannabi, who possess both lyrical ballads and dynamic band sounds, this strategy highlights their musical spectrum while allowing them to segment their audience.
The box office success has already been confirmed. During ticket sales on the 21st of last month, all seats for the three performances sold out in just five minutes. Jannabi, who became the first indie band to perform at K-Sport Dome last year, has returned to the same venue this year, once again proving their status as a powerhouse in the concert scene.
This concert is also significant in that it showcases Jannabi’s growth. Having confirmed their potential in the international concert market through their first Asian tour, they are now expanding their competitiveness as artists by experimenting with new performance formats domestically. In essence, they are moving beyond simply increasing the scale of their concerts to diversifying performance formats and audience experiences.
Jannabi’s experimentation also offers insights for the live performance industry as a whole. As the domestic popular music concert market grows around fan communities, the interaction between artists and audiences is expanding beyond one-time events into experiences that can be enjoyed repeatedly. This demonstrates that even the same song can create new value depending on its arrangement, staging, and spatial design. This suggests that it is becoming increasingly important to view concerts not merely as venues for listening to music, but as content that provides a unique experience. The fact that both of Jannabi’s concerts sold out suggests that not only the scale of a performance but also its format and structure can be key factors in its commercial success.
Jannabi connects with audiences through emotion on one day and through fervor on another. This concert is expected to serve as a showcase for just how many distinct experiences a single artist can create on the same stage.
