[Edaily Reporter KIM HYUNG-HWAN ] Attention is focusing on the apartment in Samseong-dong where TV personality Seo Jang-hoon, known as a “good landlord,” lives. Unlike celebrities who recently moved into ultra-luxurious high-end complexes, Seo Jang-hoon resides in a large apartment complex.

According to the real estate industry on the 25th, the apartment complex in Samseong-dong where Seo Jang-hoon lives is the “Samsung Hillstate Phase 2.” Constructed by Hyundai Engineering & Construction in 2008, the complex consists of 12 buildings and 926 units. Looking at the unit sizes, the 84-square-meter units make up the vast majority with 740 units, followed by 40 units of 43 square meters, 124 units ranging from 39 to 40 square meters, and 22 units of 38 square meters. Seo Jang-hoon is reported to have lived in this apartment complex continuously since 2012.
A unit with an exclusive area of 84㎡ in this complex was sold for 3.5 billion won last July. It had previously set a record high price of 3.54 billion won in June of last year. Current market prices range from 3.4 billion won to 3.8 billion won. Jeonse (lump-sum lease) listings are available in the range of 1.15 billion won to 1.5 billion won.
The most notable feature of this apartment complex is its “prime location near the subway.” Although Samsung Jungang Station on Line 9 did not exist when residents first moved in, the station—which was built after the complex was completed—is located just a one-minute walk from the complex entrance. Cheongdam Station is a 10-minute walk away, and Seonjeongneung Station is a 12-minute walk away. It’s also easy to get to the COEX area, and the Gangnam district—including Seolleung, Yeoksam, and Daechi—is conveniently accessible by bus. Furthermore, with excellent access to the Olympic Expressway, it’s easy to travel toward Yeouido or Jamsil.
The school district is also outstanding. Samneung Elementary School and Eonju Middle School are located nearby and can be reached on foot, and Gyeonggi High School, considered a prestigious high school, is also in the vicinity. Furthermore, it is close to the Daechi-dong tutoring district, making it convenient to get there by car or shuttle bus. With a concentration of educational facilities ranging from elementary to high school, it is highly regarded as a residential area preferred by parents with children.
The infrastructure is also excellent. The complex is well-equipped with daily living amenities, including shopping, medical, and administrative facilities. In particular, its proximity to COEX and Hyundai Department Store is a major advantage. Government offices, such as the Gangnam District Office and the Samsung 2-dong Community Service Center, are also nearby. Major general hospitals—including Samsung Medical Center, Gangnam Severance Hospital, and Asan Medical Center—are accessible by car, making it convenient to receive high-quality medical care. Additionally, the area features green spaces such as Bong-eun Park, boasting a residential environment where residents can enjoy shopping, cultural activities, and relaxation alike.
It has been reported that Seo Jang-hoon owns three other buildings in addition to this apartment complex. These are reportedly located in Seocho-dong, Seocho-gu; Heukseok-dong, Dongjak-gu; and Seogyo-dong, Mapo-gu. Industry experts estimate the total value of these properties to be over 70 billion won. Seo Jang-hoon is credited with successfully investing in real estate, having purchased these properties for approximately 22.6 billion won.
