Jeon Hyun-moo announced this news during a recent taping of the KBS 2TV variety show "The Boss Has Donkey Ears" (Sa-dang-gwi).
According to the production team, Jeon Hyun-moo successfully obtained the Level 2 Korean Language Teacher Certification—an official credential allowing him to teach Korean to foreigners—after completing a formal training program over the past year.
During the recording, Jeon Hyun-moo stated, “I was greatly inspired when I visited the Sejong Institute in Istanbul, Türkiye, through ‘The Boss’s Ears Are Donkey Ears’ last year,” adding, “I was surprised by the foreigners’ keen interest in the Korean language, and since I wanted to teach it properly and in a fun way, I decided to take on this challenge.”
Kim Sook expressed her surprise, asking, “You’ve been especially busy this year—and you still managed to prepare for and pass the exam?” Choi Kang-chang-min, who participated as a special MC, also expressed his admiration, saying, “He’s such a smart guy.”
Jeon Hyun-moo also revealed footage of himself serving as a one-day teacher for the “Traveling Correct Korean Language Teacher” project, in which the KBS Announcer’s Office visits elementary and middle schools nationwide to promote proper Korean.
“Sadang-gwi,” which features Jeon Hyun-moo’s journey as a “Proper Korean Language Teacher,” will air on the 25th at 4:40 p.m.
