[Edaily Reporter YUN GI BACK ] Netflix’s variety show “Do Driver” is coming to an end with its sixth season. The cast’s journey, which began with its predecessor, KBS2’s “Hong Kim Dong Jeon,” is also drawing to a close after about five years.

Production company Studio Two Plus announced on the 25th via its official YouTube channel, “‘Do Driver’ will conclude its long journey with the 16th episode of its sixth season, which is currently airing.” The final episode will be released on November 21.
The production team remarked, “If we consider the bonds formed in a past life, this program has been with us for a full five years,” adding, “Given the unique narratives and relationships that have developed over time, both the cast and crew wrapped up the final shoot with deep regret.”
They continued, “In this day and age, when long-running variety shows are rare, ‘Do Driver’ has been able to make it this far thanks to the unwavering love from our fans,” and expressed their gratitude by saying, “We will do our very best to produce the show right up until the final episode.”
“Doraiver” is a variety show starring Hong Jin-kyung, Kim Sook, Jo Se-ho, Joo Woo-jae, and 2PM’s Wooyoung. The cast and production team from KBS2’s “Hong-Kim-Dong-Jeon,” which ended in 2024, reunited to debut the show on Netflix last February. Over the course of several seasons, the show has built a loyal fan base through the members’ long-standing chemistry and humorous skits.
Notably, at this year’s 5th Blue Dragon Series Awards, Kim Sook won the Best Female Variety Performer Award and Joo Woo-jae won the Best Male Variety Performer Award. Season 5 also demonstrated its prominence by being nominated for Best Variety Program.
The news of the show’s finale has also drawn attention due to its connection to Jo Se-ho’s broadcasting activities. Jo Se-ho stepped down from shows such as tvN’s “You Quiz on the Block” and KBS2’s “2 Days & 1 Night” after being embroiled in controversy late last year over his alleged friendship with an individual identified as a member of an organized crime group. At the time, his agency denied allegations related to the acceptance of money or gifts.
In contrast, “Do Driver” continued to feature Jo Se-ho. Even after the controversy, he appeared in Seasons 4 through 6, working alongside the other cast members. Consequently, with the conclusion of “Do Driver,” attention is expected to turn to Jo Se-ho’s future broadcasting activities.
However, the production team did not provide any specific details regarding the reasons for ending the program. Nor were any details disclosed regarding the cast members’ future activities or plans for a follow-up program.
The production team apologized, saying, “We’re sorry to share news that may disappoint you,” and added, “We hope you’ll laugh a lot and find happiness watching the ‘Do Driver’ members during the remaining four episodes,” urging viewers to continue their support until the very end.
