The group RIIZE is betting on the voices of its six members rather than flashy performances. This is the hope expressed by member Sohee regarding their new song “Insomnia.”
RIIZE will release their new single “Insomnia” at midnight on the 26th. The new song is a pop track that blends acoustic guitar sounds with the members’ understated yet heartfelt vocals. It lyrically expresses the thoughts and complex emotions toward someone that grow clearer as the night deepens. In particular, by focusing on vocals and harmonies rather than choreography, the group plans to showcase a new musical style for RIIZE.
Shota described the new song, saying, “I remember liking it the moment I heard it and asking to hear it over and over again,” adding, “It’s a song with a vibe that RISE hasn’t explored before.” He continued, “Since we had to convey emotions through vocals rather than performance, we carefully considered everything from vocal technique and expression to the tone of our voices,” and said, “I hope you’ll get a sense of another side of our charm.”
Seongchan also explained, “When I first heard the demo, I loved the warm, gentle yet heartfelt vibe,” adding, “I paid a lot of attention to my tone and intonation to ensure that the resonance and emotional depth of every single lyric came through.” Sohee noted, “The guitar sound stood out the most,” and added, “I worked hard to make the vocals shine in this atmosphere, which is different from our usual style.”
The members also shared their personal highlights of the track. Eun-seok cited the six members’ harmonies as the song’s greatest charm, saying, “It feels like our voices create great synergy together.” Referring specifically to the lyrics about finding comfort simply by thinking of someone, he expressed his affection for the fans, saying, “For me, Breeze (the fan club name) is that kind of presence.”

Wonbin revealed that the lyrics “When I’m captivated by the night” particularly resonated with him. He explained, “It’s a part where the harmonies build naturally as the members sing together, so I find myself focusing more on the emotion.” Anton highlighted the moment when the song transitions from Sohee’s calm intro to Wonbin’s part as the standout moment. Regarding the chorus, which describes staying up all night and welcoming the morning, he said, “It’s a situation I’ve experienced myself, so I think many people will relate to it.”
In the music video, he also showcases a unique acting transformation. Produced in a drama format, the video captures the stories of characters struggling to sleep in a cinematic style. Shotaro cut his hair short for the shoot and tried special effects makeup for the first time. He shared, “Emotional acting—like screaming and shedding tears—was difficult, but I was able to pull it off with the help of my acting coach.” Eun-seok also revealed, “I was nervous because there were many scenes where I had to convey emotions with just my eyes, but it was a unique experience.”
RISE hopes this song will remain in the public’s memory for a long time. Wonbin said, “It’s okay to feel like you’re alone,” adding, “I hope this becomes a song where everyone can fully experience their own emotions.” So-hee said, “I hope this song is remembered as the one that immediately comes to mind when people think of RISE’s vocals,” and Anton added, “I hope that even as time passes, listening to this song will naturally bring back the moments and memories of 2026.”
