[Edaily Starin Gim Ga Yeong Reporter] Yoo Yeon-seok and Seo Hyun-jin from “Liar” are undergoing a polygraph test regarding allegations of sexual assault.
On the 31st, the production team of MBC’s “Liar” released images of Min Jun-ho (played by Yoo Yeon-seok) and Kang Ji-sun (played by Seo Hyun-jin) as they get one step closer to “the truth of that day.”
In the photos, Min Jun-ho and Kang Ji-sun are seen being questioned in a police station interrogation room. The next photo shows them undergoing a polygraph test, further piquing viewers’ curiosity.
Polygraph tests are known to have limitations regarding their admissibility as evidence. However, the psychological pressure exerted by the test itself is more significant than whether the results can be admitted as evidence. This is because if a person is actually lying, their psychological anxiety about “being found out” increases, and this is highly likely to be reflected in the polygraph results.
Regarding this, the production team of “Liar” stated, “In Episode 2, airing today (the 31st), Min Jun-ho and Kang Ji-sun undergo a polygraph test. Since the two are making completely opposite claims about the same memory, the polygraph test scene will deliver intense suspense to viewers. Above all, we ask for your keen interest and high expectations for the profound performances of actors Yoo Yeon-seok and Seo Hyun-jin, who portray the characters’ psychological shifts without missing even the smallest detail.”
In the first episode, which aired on the 30th, the two protagonists, Min Jun-ho and Kang Ji-sun, went on a date after developing mutual feelings, but their reactions diverged the next day. Kang Ji-sun reported Min Jun-ho to the police on charges of sexual assault, claiming the encounter was forced, while Min Jun-ho protested his innocence, insisting it was absolutely not forced. Attention is now focused on how their “game of truth” will unfold.
“Liar” is a psychological thriller drama in which a man and a woman make diametrically opposed claims about a single memory and clash fiercely in their pursuit of the truth. It stars actors Seo Hyun-jin and Yoo Yeon-seok. According to Nielsen Korea, the first episode, which aired on the 30th, recorded a nationwide household viewership rating of 1.9%.
“Liar” airs every Saturday and Sunday at 9:50 p.m.
