According to FlixPatrol, a global online video service (OTT) ranking site, on the 5th, “The Remarried Empress” ranked No. 1 in the Disney+ TV Show category in 12 countries—including South Korea, Belgium, Slovakia, Romania, Switzerland, Taiwan, and Sweden—and ranked 7th overall. “The Remarried Empress” is a romantic fantasy epic that follows “Nabie” (Shin Min-a), the perfect empress of the Dongdae Empire, who is notified of a divorce by Emperor “Sobiesh” (Joo Ji-hoon)—who has fallen for the runaway slave “Rasta” (Lee Se-young). Instead of accepting the divorce, she demands permission to remarry Prince “Heinri” (Lee Jong-suk) of the Western Kingdom. It is based on the popular webtoon of the same name, which has recorded approximately 2.97 billion cumulative views worldwide (as of July this year). “The Remarried Empress” was originally scheduled for release on the 4th but premiered a day early on the 3rd. Since its release, the series has been gaining traction through word of mouth, thanks to its stunning visuals depicting the imperial world and its compelling narrative.
