On the 6th (local time), the U.S. entertainment outlet The Hollywood Reporter cited multiple sources in reporting that Pattinson was one of the actors who underwent a screen test for the role of James Bond. His name was listed alongside previously mentioned candidates Calum Turner, Jack Lowden, and Josh O’Connor. Nicholas Hoult has also recently been mentioned as a candidate for the next Bond.

The James Bond casting process is taking place 21 years after Daniel Craig was selected as the next 007 in October 2005. Daniel Craig stepped down from the role after appearing in five Bond films, concluding his run with “No Time to Die,” which was released in 2021.

Until now, the prevailing view has been that the next James Bond would be a fresh face rather than a globally recognized star like Robert Pattinson. This is because Robert Pattinson is the lead actor in the “Batman” franchise. In particular, this year he appeared in director Christopher Nolan’s “Odyssey” and starred in the A24 film “The Drama.”

Amy Pascal of the “Spider-Man” series and David Heyman, producer of the “Harry Potter” film series, are involved in the production of the new “007” film.

According to foreign media reports, Robert Pattinson is currently filming “The Batman” Part 2 in London, England. He first gained attention for his role in the 2005 film “Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire” and subsequently rose to global stardom through the “Twilight” series. He also appeared in the film “Dune: Part 3,” which opens on the 16th of next month.
