[Edaily Reporter Han Kwangbeom ] LG Uplus(032640)is expanding its membership benefits across various sectors—including food and beverage, shopping, and travel—to coincide with the College Scholastic Ability Test (CSAT) season. The company is offering over 50 benefits, ranging from “buy one, get one free” deals on Starbucks coffee to discounts on amusement park admission tickets, and is also hosting a movie screening event for 4,000 long-term customers.
LG Uplus announced on the 8th that it is launching “U+2PLUS PLUS WEEK,” which extends the validity period for discount coupons from popular partner companies from one day to five days.
The event will run from the 16th to the 20th. Customers can receive coupons from their preferred partner companies via the LG Uplus integrated app, “U+one.” Coupons are limited to one per person per partner, and the event may end early if supplies run out.
In the food and beverage category, benefits include a “buy one, get one free” offer on Starbucks Americano, up to 50% off at Gongcha, up to 8,000 won off at Paris Baguette, and a “buy one, get one free” offer on four popular menu items at Baekmidang.
In the lifestyle and shopping category, benefits include Daiso gift cards worth up to 3,000 won, up to 50% off at Lotte Mart’s Zeta online store, up to 15,000 won off at SPAO, 15,000 won off at OTOKI Mall, and 10,000 won off at Pulmuone Corporate.
In the travel and culture category, the event offers 55% off Seoul Land admission tickets and 47% off Lotte World all-day passes. Other benefits include 30,000 won off domestic accommodations through Here’s Where, 60% off Lotte Rent-a-Car G-Car rentals, up to 50% off the “Brad Walls Photo Exhibition,” and 50% off admission to the Bunker of Light and Theater of Light.
LG Uplus explained that a key feature of this event is that it broadens the range of options for customers to enjoy benefits, reflecting customer feedback that the coupon issuance period was too short.
The company is also hosting a movie event for long-term customers. LG Uplus is holding the “U+ Long-Term Customer IMAX Special Day” for VVIP-tier customers who have used its services for 10 years or more.
The featured film is “Dune: Part 3.” The company has reserved five CGV IMAX theaters nationwide to invite a total of 4,000 guests. In particular, the company is encouraging family participation so that customers can watch the movie with their children who have just finished the College Scholastic Ability Test (CSAT).
The application period runs from the 11th to the 25th of this month. Applications can be submitted via the U+one app, and customers wishing to create memories with their children who have just taken the CSAT can do so by submitting a brief story explaining their situation.
The screenings will take place over two days, on the 21st and 22nd of next month, at five IMAX theaters: CGV Yongsan I’Park Mall, Wangsimni, Yeongdeungpo, Jeonju Hyoja, and Busan Centum City.
LG Uplus has expanded its existing invitation-only events—which were previously concentrated in the Seoul metropolitan area—to Jeonju and Busan. The previous invitation-only event at Hwadam Forest attracted 46,000 applications from long-term customers, resulting in a competition ratio of 9.2 to 1.
Jang Jun-young, Head of the Marketing Group at LG Uplus (Senior Vice President), stated, “We have expanded both PLUS WEEK and IMAX Special Days to reflect our customers’ feedback, making them more convenient and accessible to customers in more regions.” He added, “We will continue to carefully consider customer feedback and consistently introduce membership programs that make long-term customers feel rewarded for their loyalty.”
