[Edaily Reporter YUN GI BACK ] SHINee’s Minho and Choi Ye-na received the “Best Solo Artist Award” at the “2026 Korea Grand Music Awards” (2026 KGMA).

Minho and Choi Ye-na were named the winners in the male and female “Best Solo” categories, respectively, during “Music Day,” the second day of the “2026 KGMA,” held on the 8th at Gocheok Sky Dome in Guro-gu, Seoul.
Minho has solidified his position as a solo artist by expanding his musical spectrum through the release of solo albums and concert performances. “From my debut in 2008 to my solo debut, it was only possible because SHINEWORLD (the fan club) gave me big dreams and courage,” Minho said. “I am grateful for your endless support. I will cherish these precious memories, so please continue to follow Minho’s journey and activities,” he added.
Choi Ye-na, who gained popularity this year with “Catch Catch,” is steadily expanding her unique musical world by consistently presenting new music and concepts as a solo artist. Choi Ye-na shared her thoughts, saying, “Since my solo debut, as I’ve taken things one step at a time, there have been many areas where I was lacking and inexperienced,” and added, “I’m grateful to the fans who have shown me unstinting love and support.” She continued, “As someone who loves and enjoys performing on stage, I promise to continue working hard so that I can always convey this passion to all of you in its entirety.”

The ‘KGMA’ is an awards ceremony newly established in 2024 by Ilgan Sports (Edaily M)—which celebrated its 57th anniversary this year—to present a new paradigm for the South Korean pop music industry. Now in its third year, this year’s ceremony was hosted by Ilgan Sports and co-organized by the KGMA Organizing Committee and Creatorling.
On the second day, “Music Day,” NEXZ, RISE, Minho, Park Ji-hyun, BILLIE, Ahop, Alpha Drive One, A.N., ATEEZ, Waytion V, Yuna, ITZY, Choi Ye-na, Kiss of Life, Kiki, Kickflip, Touched, TOURS, and Hearts to Hearts will take the stage. Shenu from Shenu X Hyungwon will be absent due to health reasons, and Hyungwon along with some other members of MONSTA X will attend in his place. IVE’s Liz and actor Kim Jae-won will serve as MCs.
The “KGMA” digital and physical sales data is provided by Hanteo Chart, Genie Music, FLO, and Bugs, while the official fan vote will be conducted via the KooGung app. The event will be broadcast live on ENA. In Japan, it will be streamed live on Hulu Japan, and globally (excluding Japan and China), it will be streamed live on TikTok Live.
