Former Vice Chairman Jeon and CEO Hwang are expected to discuss memory supply, including High Bandwidth Memory (HBM). CEO Hwang previously mentioned supply chain coordination when explaining the reason for his visit to South Korea. Upon his arrival on the 5th, he explained, “The main purpose is supply chain coordination,” adding, “This is because we need to produce massive amounts of HBM memory and AI chips.” CEO Huang explained, “The ‘Grace Blackwell’ system is operating smoothly, and ‘Vera Rubin’ has entered full-scale mass production,” adding, “We will be very busy in the second half of the year.”
CEO Hwang has emphasized the need for more HBM. Currently, Samsung Electronics and SK Hynix are supplying various memory products, including HBM4, to NVIDIA.
Later that day, as the final item on his schedule following his meeting with the former vice chairman, CEO Hwang is scheduled to attend the “Korea AI Ecosystem Reception” held at the Shilla Hotel in Jung-gu, Seoul, where he will meet with domestic AI and robotics companies. Participants in this event include Samsung Electronics, SK Hynix, SK Telecom, Hyundai Motor Group, LG Electronics, Naver, Krafton, Upstage, and Doosan Robotics.
