Smartphones released more than five years ago also saw steady sales. Among these, the Galaxy S21 had the highest sales volume, followed by the Galaxy Note20 Ultra, Galaxy Note20, iPhone 12 Pro, and Galaxy S21 Ultra.
On a monthly basis, the highest number of completed sales occurred in March, coinciding with the release of new smartphone models. This is interpreted as an increase in demand from consumers looking to sell their existing smartphones following the launch of new models.
Cello calculated the age of each device based on the period from the official domestic launch date of each model to the point when the sale was finalized on the platform.
Reflecting the fact that transactions for older smartphones are still actively taking place, Cello has expanded the eligibility for additional rewards this month. Until the 31st, users selling devices on Cello—regardless of model, release year, or minimum buyback price—will receive an additional Naver Pay reward upon completion of the sale.
A Cello representative stated, “About 63% of the devices sold this year were smartphones that had been on the market for more than three years,” adding, “If you have an unused smartphone, rather than keeping it just because it’s old, you can check whether it’s eligible for sale and how much you’ll receive in compensation.”
