Nexon and Naver Unveil 'FC Online' x Chizichik Collaboration Content
Starting on the 12th, instantly play the "FC Online" mini-game during soccer and gaming broadcasts on Chizich
Personalized game content based on user data from both companies will be displayed within the Chizich broadcast screen
An Expanded Content Experience Connecting Everything from TV Viewing to Gaming
[Edaily Reporter Ahn Yu-ri] Nexon announced on the 8th that it will collaborate with Naver (#NAVER) to launch linked content between the authentic online soccer game “EA SPORTS FC™ Online (FC Online)” and the streaming platform Chizichik. Ahead of a major global soccer event, the collaboration will provide a seamless content experience that bridges the gap between watching broadcasts and playing the game.
Starting at 10 a.m. on the 12th, viewers watching soccer, ‘FC Online,’ or ‘FC Mobile’ category broadcasts on Chizichik via desktop will be able to immediately enjoy three ‘FC Online’-based mini-games directly on the screen. These mini-games, such as the Scissor Kick Challenge and Free Kick Challenge, reflect core gameplay elements from the original games. They are designed to allow users to experience both watching broadcasts and participating in the games on a single screen. Upon clearing all mini-games, a coupon code for ‘FC Online’ or ‘FC Mobile’ will be issued to the user’s Npay wallet; entering this code in-game will grant reward items.
Additionally, by leveraging user data from Nexon and Naver, the service displays personalized Nexon game content within the Chizchiz screen for viewers of relevant categories. These customized banners, based on users’ interests or gameplay history, are designed to bridge the gap between streaming and game access.
This project is part of the ongoing strategic partnership between Nexon and Naver. The two companies are gradually expanding the scope of their collaboration, from combining user data to supporting game-themed broadcast activities and linking streaming platforms with game content. With sports fans’ attention focused on this season, the plan is to create a new viewing culture where soccer fandom and gaming converge.
Bae Jun-young, Head of the Platform Division at Nexon, stated, “This collaboration is an attempt to combine the experiences of ‘playing games’ and ‘watching games’ based on both companies’ content and platform capabilities.” He added, “Building on the cooperation Nexon and Naver have cultivated together—from account linking to content integration—we will create an environment where users’ daily lives and games are connected.”
