[Edaily Marketin Reporter Soyoung Park ] This week (October 19–23), startups in various sectors—including accommodation solutions, AI video production, and digital healthcare—secured investments from venture capital (VC) firms and accelerators (ACs).

In particular, “Legora,” a legal AI company that entered the Korean market last July, drew attention by successfully securing Series E funding with a valuation of $8.8 billion (approximately 12 trillion won). The company raised $550 million (approximately 750 billion won) in this round. The company plans to expand its workforce in the Asia-Pacific (APAC) region to more than 100 employees by the end of this year, using offices in Sydney, Singapore, Bengaluru, Tokyo, and Seoul as hubs.

Legal AI Company 'Legora'

Legora, a provider of an agentic operating system (aOS) for legal professionals, has secured $550 million (approximately 750 billion won) in Series E funding. This round was led by Atlaydis Management. New investors included Barron Capital, Capital Group, Fidelity Management & Research, Glade Brook Capital Partners, and JPMorgan. Existing shareholders, including Accel, Benchmark, Bessemer Venture Partners, General Catalyst, Iconic, Insight Venture Partners, Redpoint Ventures, Salesforce Ventures, and Sands Capital, also participated.

This funding round came at a time when inquiries about adopting the platform were increasing, particularly from domestic law firms and corporate legal departments. Legora stated that its entry into the Korean market plays a pivotal role in its Asia-Pacific (APAC) expansion strategy. LegoRa noted that the Korean legal market is highly receptive to new technologies and adopts them very quickly in practical settings. The company plans to form a dedicated team for Korea to expand its workforce and invest in product enhancements tailored to the needs of local legal teams.

Since officially entering the Korean market last July, Legora has implemented localizations tailored to the Korean market, including a Korean-language user interface (UI), support for Hangul Word Processor (HWP) files, and integration with domestic legal databases. Through these efforts, the company supports legal professionals in handling everything from research to review and document drafting in a single workflow, even within complex workflows that mix Korean and English.

The funds from this investment will be allocated to securing global hubs and enhancing “Legora aOS,” the company’s core platform. Legora aOS is an agentic operating system where legal professionals and AI agents collaborate. Legora plans to continue introducing new solutions in the future, including △Agentic Intake (automating the receipt and classification of in-house legal matters), △Horizon Scanning (detecting regulatory changes), and △AI Legal Research.

Comprehensive Accommodation Solutions Company ‘The Hui-sik’

The Hui-sik, an IT-based comprehensive lodging solutions company, has secured 65 billion won in pre-IPO funding from TS Investment and VIP Asset Management. This investment was made through a project fund established by TS Investment and VIP Asset Management as co-general partners (Co-GP). It included 15 billion won in existing shares from current shareholders. With this, the company’s cumulative investment raised has reached 107.8 billion won.

The Hui-sik was founded in 2019. It vertically integrates the entire accommodation business process—from data-driven feasibility analysis to space planning and construction, outsourced operations, IT solutions, and unmanned monitoring. The company has managed and provided property management services for over 300 accommodation facilities nationwide, including its own brand, “Anuk.”

The Huis provides services based on AI-powered “smart pricing” and unmanned monitoring systems. It has adopted an “asset-light” model, in which it does not directly own the buildings. The company aims to secure a leading position in the 3- to 4-star mid-scale hotel market in key hubs such as Seoul, the Greater Seoul Area, and Busan by investing up to 100 billion won by 2027. It subsequently plans to complete an initial public offering (IPO) in 2028.

AI Video Production Company ‘Nation A’

video production
company Nation A has secured 8.5 billion won in Series A funding. Hana Securities participated in the follow-on investment. KDB Industrial Bank, Hyundai Investment Partners, and Ilshin Venture Investment joined as new investors.

NationA has expanded its business scope from video production to viewing and interaction. The company leveraged the story-based video generation technology, user data, and service operation experience it accumulated while operating video production tools and an interactive drama platform.

With this investment, NationA will launch a revamped AI video production platform. It will integrate key production processes—from image, audio, and voice generation to video creation and editing—into a single workflow. The goal is to reduce the hassle of users switching between multiple tools and lower production costs.

Additionally, the investment funds will be used to enhance the AI video production platform, strengthen GPU-based service infrastructure, develop new products, and acquire global customers. The company plans to achieve an early break-even point (BEP) by expanding its paid customer base and improving operational efficiency, while also recruiting top talent.

'MyBenefit': Exercise Guidance via 3D Motion Recognition

Digital healthcare startup MyBenefit has secured a Series A investment worth 3 billion won. Participants in this round included InBody, a manufacturer of body composition analyzers, and the Sports Industry Mother Fund of the Korea Sports Promotion Foundation. Previously, the company received 4 billion won in investment from NH Investment & Securities, the WE Regional Enterprise Development Fund, Korea Biotechnology Investment, Bogwang Investment, T Investment, and Alpenroute Asset Management. This brings the company’s cumulative investment to 7 billion won.

InBody, which joined as a new shareholder in this investment round, has been conducting research in collaboration with MyBenefit as part of the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy’s “Development of Bioimpedance-Based AI Healthcare Solutions” project. Going forward, the two companies plan to integrate InBody’s body composition analysis data with MyBenefit’s motion-recognition-based posture and fitness measurement data and provide them on a single platform. This approach allows users to view results for musculoskeletal measurements, body composition, blood pressure, and grip strength all in one place.

MyBenefit’s flagship product, “VirtualMate,” uses 3D motion recognition technology to measure joint movement and physical fitness. It provides exercise guidance tailored to the results. During workouts, it offers posture feedback via voice prompts and on-screen displays. The platform offers approximately 579 different exercise programs, including content designed for individuals with sarcopenia, prediabetes, cancer survivors, and those with mild cognitive impairment.
