KCC’s flagship paint brand ‘Supuro’ embodies the vision of transforming the forest of buildings in urban areas into spaces that breathe healthily, much like natural forests. Based on a diverse product lineup that combines eco-friendliness and functionality, the brand has steadily built its competitiveness through consistent use in various settings, including schools, hospitals, factories, and residential spaces. This year, “Supuro Tree Guard” garnered attention as a prime example of the brand’s product competitiveness. This product is a water-based paint specifically designed for fruit trees, developed through joint research between KCC and the National Institute of Horticultural and Special Crops Science under the Rural Development Administration. It is designed to protect fruit trees from freezing during cold winters and reduce environmental stress caused by climate change. ‘Supuro Tree Guard’ utilizes a high-reflectivity coating technology to prevent sudden spikes in the surface temperature of the trees. It focuses on reducing damage to the bark caused by large daily temperature fluctuations or freezing due to cold weather. Additionally, it prevents cracking, blocks water penetration, and inhibits mold growth. It also offers high workability, as it can be easily applied using just a brush or roller. A KCC official stated, “This award is a result of the ‘Forest’ brand’s eco-friendliness and product competitiveness being recognized once again,” adding, “We will continue to prioritize our customers and strive to develop eco-friendly products and strengthen our brand competitiveness.” Meanwhile, K-BPI is a brand diagnostic evaluation system first developed in Korea in 1999 by the Korea Management Association Consulting. It comprehensively evaluates brand awareness and loyalty to select the top brand in each industry.
