[Edaily Reporter Song Jae-min] Samsung Electronics is recruiting participants for the "12th Samsung Electronics College Programming Challenge (SCPC)," a software competition for undergraduate and graduate students in Korea.
According to Samsung Electronics on the 11th, applications for the SCPC will be accepted via the Samsung Research website from today until the 5th of next month. Any undergraduate or graduate student interested in programming can apply, regardless of year or major.
The SCPC is Korea’s largest software competition, held annually by Samsung Electronics since 2015 to expand the software ecosystem and discover top talent. To date, over 40,000 participants have taken part, and a total of 393 winners have been selected.
This year’s competition will feature two categories: the “AI Challenge” and the “Software Algorithm Challenge.” The AI Challenge evaluates participants’ capabilities in developing agent-based AI, while the Software Algorithm Challenge focuses on assessing programming and algorithmic problem-solving skills.
The preliminary rounds will be held online twice for each category. The first round of the AI Challenge preliminaries will take place from July 6 to 12, and the second round from July 29 to August 5. The first round of the Software Algorithm Challenge preliminaries will be held on July 10–11, and the second round on August 1.
The finals will be held at the Samsung Electronics Seoul R&D Campus in U-myeon-dong, Seocho-gu, Seoul. The AI Challenge finals will take place on August 21, and the Software Algorithm Challenge finals on August 28. The awards ceremony is scheduled to be held jointly on the 28th of the same month.
Final winners will receive prize money and preferential treatment in Samsung Electronics’ hiring process. Through this competition, Samsung Electronics plans to discover top talent in the fields of AI and software and expand the future developer ecosystem.
