[Edaily Reporter Park Soon-yeop] Woori Asset Management’s “Semiconductor BIG2 Plus Fund” has recorded the highest return among bond-mixed funds that include #Samsung Electronics and #SK Hynix, even amid recent market volatility. Analysts attribute this performance to a strategy that flexibly adjusts the weighting of large-cap semiconductor stocks while also including beneficiaries of artificial intelligence (AI) investments and government stock market stimulus measures.
According to Woori Asset Management on the 11th, based on KG Zeroin data and the closing price as of the 9th, the Semiconductor BIG2 Plus Fund’s one-year return stood at 74.4%. This is the highest performance among six bond-mixed funds holding Samsung Electronics and SK Hynix.

The fund also maintained top-tier returns in both short-term and medium-to-long-term periods. Its one-month return was 7.9%, its three-month return was 25.5%, and its six-month return was 41.5%—the highest among funds of the same type. It also recorded a three-year return of 98.8%.
The Semiconductor BIG2 Plus Fund is a product that seeks to generate excess returns by allocating 15–30% of its portfolio to Samsung Electronics and SK Hynix, while selecting small- and mid-cap growth stocks. At the same time, it features a bond-mixed structure that includes approximately 70% domestic bonds to reduce stock market volatility.
The diversification of the equity portfolio is cited as a key factor behind this performance. Woori Asset Management actively adjusted the weightings of Samsung Electronics and SK Hynix according to market conditions, while also pursuing excess returns by including stocks expected to benefit from expanded AI investments and stock market stimulus measures, such as #Samsung Electro-Mechanics, #Gigabits, #Hyundai Motor, #HD Hyundai Heavy Industries, and #Mirae Asset Securities.
Fund inflows continue to grow. The Semiconductor BIG2 Plus Fund’s net assets have risen to 744.2 billion won, with net asset growth this year alone reaching 629 billion won. Pension assets accounted for 171.6 billion won, or 27%, of total inflows. This is interpreted as demand from investors seeking to benefit from the improving semiconductor market while reducing volatility through bond allocations.
Seo Bo-min, Head of Fixed Income Management Division 1 at Woori Asset Management, stated, “The Semiconductor BIG2 Plus Fund is managed stably, focusing on interest income by primarily investing in short-term bonds,” adding, “We will continue to focus on stable management so that investors can benefit from the rising stock market.”
Lee Ho-seok, Head of the Equity Management 2 Team at Woori Asset Management, said, “The semiconductor boom is lasting longer than expected, so we are closely monitoring market conditions.” He added, “If we identify opportunities in sectors such as printed circuit boards, in addition to memory semiconductors, we plan to seek opportunities for excess returns beyond the BIG2 stocks.”
