Crimson Desert announced the news of surpassing 6 million copies sold worldwide via its official social media channels, stating, “We sincerely thank all Graymane players who have come to Faiwell and experienced the world in their own way.”

Crimson Desert garnered significant attention in the global market by achieving unprecedented success shortly after its launch. It sold 2 million copies within a day of release, reached 5 million copies in less than a month, and achieved 6 million copies in just 83 days. This marks an unprecedented sales record in the history of Korean console gaming.

The achievement of 6 million copies sold is particularly significant because it was accomplished as a new IP (intellectual property) in a global console market traditionally dominated by established franchises. According to the 2026 U.S. video game sales rankings released by the U.S. market research firm Circana in May, Red Desert ranked second in annual cumulative sales. User metrics are also maintaining a stable trend.

Pearl Abyss recently announced a preview of Red Desert’s third-quarter update and the development of DLC (downloadable content). Leveraging its experience in operating the global service for Black Desert, the company has implemented rapid updates and patches to enhance content quality and user convenience. By utilizing its proprietary game engine, the “BlackSpace Engine,” the company has elevated the game’s quality and immersion.
