[Edaily Reporter KYUNG GYEYOUNG ] Hyundai Department Store ( HYUNDAIDEPARTMENTSTORECO.,LTD(069960)) announced on the 5th that it received the highest rating of “AA” in the first half of this year’s ESG evaluation conducted by SustainBest, a domestic Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) rating agency.

HYUNDAIDEPARTMENTSTORECO.,LTD has maintained an “AA” rating for six consecutive evaluations since the second half of 2023. SustainBest conducts ESG evaluations of domestic companies twice a year—in the first and second halves—at the request of institutional investors; only 11.7% of the 1,305 companies evaluated received an “AA” rating in the first half of this year. Notably, HYUNDAIDEPARTMENTSTORECO.,LTD was also included in the “Top 100 ESG Companies” list for 2026.

Yang Myeong-seong, Executive Vice President in charge of Sales Strategy at HYUNDAIDEPARTMENTSTORECO.,LTD, explained, “We ranked fourth overall among listed companies with assets of 2 trillion won or more, achieving the highest ranking in the retail industry,” adding, “This is the result of actively implementing environmental management, shared growth, occupational safety and health initiatives, and shareholder-friendly policies based on domestic and international ESG guidelines.”

HYUNDAIDEPARTMENTSTORECO.,LTD also maintained an “Integrated A+ rating” for 2023–2025 in the evaluation by the Korea ESG Standards Institute (KCGS). Only four domestic companies maintained an A+ rating for three consecutive years.
