[Edaily Reporter Park Soon-yeop] It has been reported that current CEO Yoon Byung-woon is not included on the shortlist compiled by the Executive Candidate Recommendation Committee (ECRC) for the appointment of the next CEO of NH Investment & Securities. Given that CEO Yoon has led the company to significant management achievements—including its best-ever performance since its founding and the launch of the Integrated Management Account (IMA) service—this selection is interpreted as a move by NH Investment & Securities to fully implement its next growth strategy and establish a new leadership structure.
According to the financial investment industry on the 11th, NH Investment & Securities’ Nomination Committee is reported to have recently finalized the shortlist for the next CEO. CEO Yoon is reportedly not included in the list of candidates.

Since taking office as CEO of NH Investment & Securities in 2024, CEO Yoon has been recognized for his achievements in improving performance and driving new business initiatives. Last year, NH Investment & Securities achieved its best-ever performance since its founding, and this year, it launched the IMA service, marking a step toward expanding its business foundation as a major investment bank (IB).
Industry observers interpret this selection as a result of considering not only past performance but also future growth strategies and organizational management direction. As rapid decision-making and business-specific expertise have become increasingly important across the financial investment industry due to the acceleration of digital transformation, changes in the global market environment, and the diversification of investor needs, NH Investment & Securities is believed to have been reviewing the establishment of a leadership structure suited to its next stage of growth.
The CEO appointment process at NH Investment & Securities was delayed compared to the original schedule due to discussions regarding the transition of its corporate governance structure. NH Investment & Securities held its first Nomination Committee meeting last February and began the process of appointing the next CEO. While the successor was originally scheduled to be appointed at the regular shareholders’ meeting last March, the CEO appointment process was postponed after NH Nonghyup Financial Holdings proposed a transition in the corporate governance structure. Consequently, CEO Yoon, whose term expired last March, has continued to serve in the role until now.
Subsequently, in late April, NH Investment & Securities decided to transition from its existing single-CEO system to a dual-CEO system, in which two CEOs make decisions independently. This move is seen as a measure to enhance expertise and execution capabilities across each business division. Once the appointment of the new CEO is finalized, NH Investment & Securities is expected to accelerate efforts to strengthen competitiveness in each business division based on the dual-CEO system.
It is reported that NH Nonghyup’s personnel principles were also reflected in the process of narrowing down the pool of CEO candidates. The NH Investment & Securities CEO Nomination Committee recently compiled a shortlist of candidates for the next CEO, excluding those who had retired more than two years ago, in accordance with the recommendations announced by the NH Nonghyup Reform Committee last March.
The market expects that, through the appointment of the next CEO, NH Investment & Securities will build on its existing achievements while focusing on strengthening competitiveness in key business sectors such as digital, global, investment banking (IB), and wealth management (WM). Given that the company has solidified its performance and laid the groundwork for new businesses under CEO Yoon’s leadership, this appointment is viewed as a process of leadership reorganization to propel NH Investment & Securities into its next stage of growth.
