Naver and Krafton to Jointly Grow the PUBG Esports Ecosystem

Strategic Partnership Signed to Expand the PUBG Esports Content Ecosystem Naver Enhances Content and Live Viewing Experience Based on PUBG Esports IP Expanding Reach Among Online and Offline Esports Fans Through Joint Promotions and Branding Collaborations

[Edaily Reporter Ahn Yu-ri] Naver (#NAVER) and Krafton announced on the 12th that they have signed a strategic business agreement to expand the "PUBG: Battlegrounds (PUBG)" esports content ecosystem and will embark on a mid- to long-term partnership.

Starting with this agreement, the two companies will link the streaming platform Chizich and Krafton’s PUBG esports IP to create synergies by leveraging their respective platforms, game IPs, and community capabilities.

First, Naver will pursue multifaceted collaborations based on the Battlegrounds esports IP, leveraging Chizchiz’s stable streaming technology and community-oriented viewing culture. By enhancing the live viewing experience through Battlegrounds esports tournament broadcasts and league partnerships on Chizchiz, the companies plan to expand user engagement with the content and provide a differentiated content experience exclusive to Chizchiz by connecting with the streamer ecosystem.

Additionally, the companies will conduct joint promotions and branding collaborations utilizing the esports IP. By linking with major PUBG leagues, they aim to expand content exposure and user-participatory promotions within the Naver ecosystem, and are expected to further broaden their reach to esports fans by hosting events that span both online and offline platforms.

In particular, through this agreement, Naver is establishing a mid- to long-term cooperation framework to revitalize both PUBG Esports and the Chizchiz streamer ecosystem. The company plans to expand the collaborative foundation that allows Chizchiz streamers to plan and produce diverse content tailored to their individual personalities and fanbases using the IP, thereby further strengthening Chizchiz’s unique community-based viewing culture.

Shin Seul-gi, Head of Game Content Partnerships at Naver, stated, “This partnership agreement will serve as an opportunity to expand user-centric esports viewing experiences by combining the global IP competitiveness of PUBG Esports with Chizich’s streaming and community capabilities.” She added, “We will continue to work closely with Krafton to build a differentiated esports content ecosystem where streamers, users, and game IPs are organically connected.”

Park Soo-yong, Head of Esports at Krafton, remarked, “We plan to use this agreement as an opportunity to expand our partnerships with external platforms and accelerate efforts to strengthen the competitiveness of PUBG Esports content.” He added, “Moving forward, we will continue to broaden our user reach through various collaborations and work to expand the PUBG Esports fan base and enhance our content.”
