Wemade Withdraws Lawsuit Against Actoz Soft Seeking Royalty Payments

Royalty settlement completed in accordance with the profit-sharing ratio finalized by the Supreme Court ruling Legal uncertainties regarding major intellectual property rights, including "Legend of Mir 2," have been resolved

[Edaily Reporter Ahn Yu-ri] #Wemade announced on the 15th that it has withdrawn the lawsuit it filed alongside its subsidiary Jeonggi IP against Actoz Soft and its subsidiary Jinjeon-gi, seeking royalty payments for "The Legend of Mir 2 and 3."

"The Legend of Mir 2 and 3" is a game for which Wemade and Actoz Soft jointly hold intellectual property (IP) rights, and the two companies have been engaged in a legal dispute over the royalty revenue distribution ratio for several years. However, following a Supreme Court ruling last December, the royalty revenue split for "The Legend of Mir 2 and 3" was finalized at 80% for Wemade and 20% for Actoz Soft. In accordance with the Supreme Court’s ruling, the two companies have completed the settlement of outstanding royalties based on the finalized revenue split ratio.

With the settlement of royalties between the two companies now complete, Wemade and Jeonggi IP have also withdrawn the lawsuits they had previously filed against Actoz Soft seeking royalty payments.

A Wemade representative stated, “In accordance with the Supreme Court’s final ruling, all legal uncertainties regarding the ‘Legend of Mir 2 and 3’ IP business have been completely resolved,” adding, “Now that the legal dispute has been settled, we will focus even more on growing the value of the Mir IP and expanding our business based on a stable legal foundation.”
