JLK Secures 65% of Supply Chain in Government Medical AI Project… More Than Half of Regional Hub Hospitals

Expanding Supply of Stroke AI Solutions, Including JLK-CTP and JLK-LVO Establishment of AI Diagnostic Infrastructure for Brain Diseases at Regional Medical Centers Nationwide

[Edaily Reporter Kim Seung-kwon] JLK, a company specializing in medical artificial intelligence, announced on the 15th that it has been selected as the AI solution provider for 11 major regional hub hospitals nationwide under the Ministry of Health and Welfare’s “AI-Based Medical Treatment System Support Project for Regional Medical Centers.”

This government-led initiative aims to strengthen the essential and public healthcare capabilities of regional hub hospitals nationwide and bridge regional healthcare disparities. The Ministry of Health and Welfare is allocating a total budget of 14.2 billion won this year to support the adoption of AI-based medical systems.

JLK secured supply contracts with 11 out of 17 participating institutions (65%), demonstrating its technological capabilities and practical applicability in clinical settings. Through this project, the company plans to supply various AI solutions and platforms that support the diagnosis and analysis of strokes and brain diseases.

Notably, the selection includes the CT perfusion imaging analysis solution ‘JLK-CTP’—recently designated for a moratorium on new medical technology evaluation—and the AI solution ‘JLK-LVO,’ which automatically detects large vessel occlusion (LVO) in CTA images. These solutions are expected to enable medical staff to more quickly determine the feasibility of treatment and the necessity of interventional procedures for emergency stroke patients.

JLK is currently building an AI solution portfolio that covers the entire lifecycle of brain diseases, including cerebral hemorrhage, large vessel occlusion, cerebral infarction, cerebral aneurysms, and white matter degeneration. Taking this project as an opportunity, the company plans to expand its real-world usage base centered on regional medical centers nationwide. Additionally, following the recent designation for a moratorium on new medical technology evaluation, JLK intends to enter the non-reimbursed market and fully launch commercialization efforts in the public healthcare sector.

A JLK representative stated, “This selection is a result of our stroke AI solution being recognized for its technological capabilities and practical value in the public healthcare sector,” adding, “We will collaborate with regional medical centers to help bridge regional healthcare disparities and strengthen essential medical capabilities, while growing into an AI platform company that supports rapid and accurate decision-making by medical staff.”
