[Edaily Reporter Na Eun-kyung] #Curocell announced on the 15th that the results of the Phase 2 clinical trial for its chimeric antigen receptor T-cell (CAR-T) therapy “RIMQARTO®” (generic name: anvalcapten-autolysate) have been published in the international hematology journal *Blood*.
Blood is a journal published by the American Society of Hematology (ASH) that covers research findings in the fields of blood diseases—such as leukemia, lymphoma, and multiple myeloma—and cell and gene therapy.
This paper presents the results of the Phase 2 clinical trial (CRC01) of RIMQARTO conducted in patients with relapsed or refractory diffuse large B-cell lymphoma (DLBCL).
According to the paper, based on the Independent Review Committee (IRC) assessment criteria, Limkato’s objective response rate (ORR) was 75.3% and the complete remission (CR) rate was 67.1%. In terms of safety, the incidence of Grade 3 or higher cytokine release syndrome (CRS) was reported at 8.9%, and the incidence of neurotoxicity (NE) was 3.8%.
CAR-T therapies are cell therapies in which a patient’s T cells—a type of immune cell—are harvested, genetically engineered to attack cancer cells, and then reinfused into the patient. Currently, leading products in the global market include Gilead’s Yescarta and Bristol Myers Squibb’s (BMS) Breyanzi.
Limkato is the first CAR-T therapy in Korea to receive marketing approval from the Ministry of Food and Drug Safety (MFDS) last April for the treatment of relapsed or refractory diffuse large B-cell lymphoma. Curocell is currently pursuing entry into the Japanese market and the development of its next-generation CAR-T pipeline.
Kim Geon-soo, CEO of Curocell, emphasized, “This publication in Blood goes beyond simply presenting Rimkato’s clinical results academically; it signifies that the next-generation CAR-T technology and clinical development capabilities Curocell has independently developed have received world-class validation.”
He added, “As *Blood* is a leading academic journal where global pharmaceutical and biotech companies focus on innovative technologies in the fields of blood cancer and cell and gene therapies, we will actively pursue strategic partnerships with global pharmaceutical companies, as well as opportunities for technology transfer (L/O) and joint development, following this publication.”
