[Edaily Reporter Kim Ah-reum] A unique event will be held at COEX in Seoul to mark “Paper Day” (June 16). MOORIM PAPER, a leading domestic paper company, announced on the 17th that it has been operating an exclusive pop-up event, “MOORIM PAPER BLOSSOM,” in the preview space in front of the East Gate on the first floor of COEX since the 16th. Celebrating its 70th anniversary this year, Moorim organized this event in June—a month packed with publishing and design events such as “Paper Day” and book fairs—to share the intrinsic value and diverse potential of paper with a wider audience.
The pop-up space features an entrance decorated with paper vines and paper flowers, followed by a variety of hands-on experiences where ideas are born on paper and technology and creativity come together. Visitors can see, touch, write on, and listen to various types of paper—including book paper, drawing paper, and packaging paper—to experience the diverse charms of paper through all five senses.
From the 16th to the 21st, the “Time to Meet and Learn About Paper” program will introduce the creative value of paper and examples of its industrial applications through seminars on branding and publishing design using paper materials, as well as paper flower classes. Experts from various fields will participate as speakers to share the diverse possibilities that paper creates in the fields of design, branding, and publishing.
Coinciding with the Seoul International Book Fair, the period from the 22nd to the 28th is designated as “Time for Paper to Become a Story.” In addition to the five-sense paper experience, the event will feature activities linked to the “Kim Gu Special Exhibition,” held at the Ministry of Patriots and Veterans Affairs booth within the Seoul International Book Fair to commemorate the 150th anniversary of the birth of Baekbeom Kim Gu. This theme embodies the idea that human thoughts are recorded on paper, and those records remain as books and history, resonating across generations.
From the 1st to the 3rd of next month, the event will move to Hall C on the 3rd floor of COEX, where “InterCHARM Korea,” Korea’s largest B2B cosmetics trade show, is being held, to host “Time to Express Your Brand Through Paper.” During this period, experts from Moolim in the fields of eco-friendly paper packaging and materials (CNF) will be on-site to provide one-on-one consulting tailored to specific industries.
A Murim Paper representative stated, “Even in the age of AI and digital technology, paper continues to be used as a material that captures human thought and creates new value,” adding, “We hope that through this pop-up, more people will experience and appreciate the sensory value and diverse potential applications of paper.”
