Flitto announced on the 17th that it has officially supplied its real-time interactive translation and interpretation solution, “Chat Translation Enterprise,” to six branches of Shinhan Vietnam Bank in Vietnam.

Shinhan Vietnam Bank is one of the leading foreign banks in Vietnam. As of last year, it operated 56 branches and transaction offices nationwide and is expanding its local retail and corporate banking operations. With 98% of its staff consisting of local personnel, the bank is connecting with the Vietnamese market and customers through its localization strategy.

The newly implemented Chat Translation Enterprise supports up to 38 languages. It was developed to reduce language barriers that arise during financial consultations between local staff and Korean customers. The solution has been installed at a total of six locations: the Le Thai To and Pham Hung branches in Hanoi, and the Ho Chi Minh City Business Office, Phu My Hung Branch, Saigon Branch, and East Saigon Branch.

Flitto expects that by implementing the solution at key branches with a high proportion of local Korean residents and Korean-owned corporate clients, it will enhance communication convenience and customer satisfaction at bank counters. With this implementation, customers can now receive guidance on financial services in a language they are familiar with, and local staff can serve customers more accurately and efficiently.

Taking into account the unique nature of financial services, Flitto focused on pre-training the system on banking-specific terminology and improving the translation accuracy of key financial terms. The company explained that this approach aims to reduce the likelihood of mistranslations that could occur during financial consultations.

The quality of Vietnamese speech recognition has also been enhanced. Since Vietnamese uses six tones and meaning can vary depending on the tone, accurate speech recognition is crucial.

User convenience for both customers and employees has also been improved. The home screen of the installed tablets features a dedicated welcome page for customer guidance and prominently displays “Shinhan Friends,” the Shinhan Financial Group’s official mascots.

Flitto plans to further enhance the administrator dashboard in the future to enable Shinhan Bank Vietnam to directly customize the welcome page and operational elements.

Flitto maintains that this collaboration has established the reliability of its AI translation and interpretation solutions in the financial sector. In particular, the company intends to expand into the Southeast Asian financial sector based on this partnership with Shinhan Vietnam Bank, a major foreign bank in Vietnam. Starting with Vietnam, Flitto plans to continue developing AI language solutions tailored to the Southeast Asian financial sector and contribute to building a global financial ecosystem.

Lee Jeong-soo, CEO of Flitto, stated, “Shinhan Bank Vietnam’s adoption of our solution marks a significant expansion of Flitto’s AI translation and interpretation capabilities in the Southeast Asian financial sector, with a focus on Vietnam.” He added, “Moving forward, we will continue to expand our customized AI solutions to enhance both customer convenience and translation accuracy by reflecting diverse local language environments and the specific needs of the financial sector.”
