"No College Degree Required"... Job Seekers Flock to SK Hanik's Unconventional Hiring Drive

Choi Tae-won Focuses on 'AI Talent Award' All "four-year bachelor's degree or higher" requirements have been removed Large-Scale Hiring for Key Positions in the "Three-Digit" Range "In the Age of AI, Creative Solutions to Complex Problems Are Key"

[Edaily Reporter Kim So-yeon] SK Hynix has decided to completely abolish educational requirements starting with its rolling recruitment for new employees, which begins on the 17th. The company aims to break down educational barriers in line with the changing environment and prioritize actual job performance capabilities and growth potential to identify talent prepared for the age of artificial intelligence (AI).

Accordingly, SK Hynix will remove all educational qualifications—such as “Applicants must hold a four-year bachelor’s degree or higher”—that were previously specified in its job postings. The company is shifting to a system where anyone can apply and be hired regardless of educational background, provided they meet the required experience, job competencies, and fit with the corporate culture.

This reflects the philosophy on talent for the AI era that SK Group Chairman Choi Tae-won has consistently emphasized. Chairman Choi has stressed the ideal profile for talent in the AI era, stating, “The definition of talent will change in the AI era.” Chairman Choi predicted, “In the future, it will be more important to know how to utilize and connect humans and AI than what specific job one holds,” adding, “The importance of generalist talent—who can traverse various fields to design new systems and societies where humans and AI coexist—will grow even more than that of specialists with deep knowledge in a single field.”

Furthermore, Chairman Choi recently highlighted the importance of three key “muscles” that future talent must possess: “thinking muscles” for asking questions and delving into the essence of issues; “adaptability muscles” for responding agilely to changes in the technological environment; and “empathy muscles” for understanding diversity and collaborating flexibly.

An SK Hynix official explained, “In the rapidly changing AI environment, the competitiveness of future talent cannot be explained solely by specific degrees or standardized qualifications,” adding, “We have innovated our hiring criteria to identify talent capable of creatively solving complex problems.”

In particular, SK Hynix is also unusually expanding the scale of hiring for key positions. In this rolling recruitment drive, the company will conduct large-scale hiring in the “hundreds” for key roles, including “design,” which will lead next-generation semiconductor technology. The plan is to actively recruit talent with outstanding potential to strengthen competitiveness in the global AI semiconductor market and proactively secure future growth engines.

By recruiting a large number of promising new graduates, SK Hynix plans to contribute to expanding youth employment while nurturing these talents so they can fully demonstrate their capabilities, thereby continuously strengthening its unrivaled technological competitiveness in the global AI market.

Applications for this rolling recruitment of new graduates will be accepted from today through the 23rd, and the detailed selection schedule can be found on the SK Hynix recruitment website.
