Focus on Choi Tae-won’s ‘AI Talent Award’... SK Hanik to Remove Educational Requirements for Hiring
Educational Requirements Completely Eliminated for Ongoing Recruitment of New Hires
All requirements for "applicants with a four-year bachelor’s degree or higher" have been removed
Unprecedented Large-Scale Expansion of Hiring for Key Roles, Including Design
[Edaily Reporter Kim So-yeon] SK Hynix has decided to completely abolish educational requirements starting with its rolling recruitment for new employees, which begins on the 17th. The company aims to identify talent in preparation for the era of Artificial General Intelligence (AGI), prioritizing actual job performance capabilities and growth potential above all else.
Accordingly, SK Hynix will remove all educational qualifications—such as “Applicants must hold a four-year bachelor’s degree or higher”—that were previously specified in its job postings. The company is shifting to a system where anyone can apply regardless of educational background, provided they meet the requirements in terms of experience, job competencies, and fit with the corporate culture. This move reflects the philosophy on talent in the AI era that SK Group Chairman Choi Tae-won has consistently emphasized. Chairman Choi has long stressed that “the definition of talent will change in the AI era.” Chairman Choi stated, “In the future, how we can utilize and connect humans and AI will become more important than what specific profession one holds,” adding, “The importance of generalist talent—who can design new systems and societies where humans and AI coexist by crossing various fields—will grow even more than that of specialists with deep knowledge in only specific areas.”
SK Hynix is also unusually expanding its hiring scale for key positions. In this rolling recruitment drive, the company will conduct large-scale hiring in the hundreds for key roles, including “design,” which will lead the next generation of semiconductor technology. This move is intended to proactively secure future growth engines in the global AI semiconductor market by actively recruiting talent with outstanding potential.
