[Edaily Reporter Kim Ah-reum] #LX Hausys, which previously received the Presidential Commendation at the “Government Awards for Excellence in Sustainable Management” for supporting space improvements for vulnerable groups by fully leveraging the characteristics of the interior design industry, continues its social contribution activities to help vulnerable groups using interior design materials. LX Hausys announced on the 17th that it will participate in the “Indoor Environment Improvement Project for Vulnerable Groups” and the “Green Early Childhood Space Transition Support Project”—public-private partnership initiatives for social contribution—by providing flooring and wallpaper.
First, LX Hausys is participating in the “Indoor Environment Improvement Project for Vulnerable Groups,” jointly conducted by the Ministry of Climate Change and the Korea Environmental Industry & Technology Institute, by providing flooring and wallpaper that have obtained eco-label certification. This initiative involves providing eco-friendly products to help improve the indoor environments of vulnerable groups who are particularly susceptible to environmentally induced diseases such as atopic dermatitis, asthma, and rhinitis. The Ministry of Climate Change plans to support approximately 250 locations nationwide this year, including households with children under 13 receiving basic livelihood assistance, and LX Hausys plans to contribute by providing eco-friendly products for the 12th consecutive year.
In addition, LX Hausys is participating in the “Green Early Childhood Space Conversion Support Project,” which helps replace flooring in aging daycare centers, by providing flooring certified with the Environmental Label. As a leading domestic flooring company, LX Hausys is participating for the fifth consecutive year in this project, which has been carried out since 2022 by the Korea Green Purchasing Network in collaboration with the Green Consumers’ Network and the National Green Purchasing Support Center. This year, the company plans to assist with flooring replacements at 20 daycare centers nationwide.
In addition, LX Hausys plans to continue supporting the renovation of “group homes”—small-scale child protection facilities operated to help vulnerable children and adolescents grow up safely and become self-reliant in the future.
An LX Hausys spokesperson stated, “We will continue our space improvement initiatives to ensure that all members of our society can live in safer and more comfortable environments, and we will consistently pursue industry-leading ESG management.”
