[Edaily Reporter Na Eun-kyung] #IMBiologics announced on the 19th that it plans to participate in the “BIO International Convention 2026” (BIO USA 2026), to be held in San Diego, USA, from the 22nd to the 25th, to discuss business development (BD) and technology collaboration with global pharmaceutical and biotech companies.
BIO USA is a biotech industry partnering event attended by global pharmaceutical and biotech companies, investment firms, and research institutions.
At this event, IMBioLogics plans to hold partnering meetings with global pharmaceutical companies and biotech firms, focusing on its autoimmune disease treatment candidate IMB-106, its anti-cancer pipeline IMB-201, and its macular degeneration treatment development project based on the ePENDY platform.
IMB-106 is an autoimmune disease treatment candidate currently under development with the goal of eliminating autoantibodies. Based on recent preclinical study results, the company plans to discuss potential joint development and technology transfer opportunities with global partners.
IMB-201 is an anti-cancer pipeline that targets the immune checkpoint protein HLA-G. The company is developing IMB-201A, an antibody-drug conjugate (ADC), and IMB-201B, a multi-antibody-based therapy. HLA-G is known to be involved in the process by which cancer cells evade attack by immune cells and has recently garnered attention as a next-generation immuno-oncology target.
The company also plans to introduce a project to develop a treatment for age-related macular degeneration (AMD) based on the ePENDY platform. The company is researching technology to increase the residence time within the eye and thereby extend the dosing interval, and is exploring the potential to develop next-generation AMD treatments based on this technology.
IM Biologics is expanding its pipeline of follow-up projects based on its antibody platform technology for the development of treatments for autoimmune diseases. The company plans to pursue technology licensing and joint development starting from the candidate compound stage.
Ha Kyung-sik, CEO of IMBioLogics, stated, “We aim to further advance these platform technologies and, starting at the end of this year, identify and launch one new candidate for the treatment of autoimmune diseases every quarter.” “In addition to IMB-106, we plan to sequentially develop a variety of next-generation autoimmune disease treatments, including IMB-105—a treatment with a novel mechanism of action—as well as candidates based on immune brake enhancement mechanisms and single-target dual-action mechanisms. We intend to pursue technology transfers starting at the candidate stage to achieve early commercialization results,” he said.
